interesting but probably a too in your face with Asian faces, something more subtle> also trying to point out in my main comment with the brief to not necessarily emphasize the Yamashiro name
From my main comment: Looking for something compact yet bold Should hit someone "children's clinic" at first millisecond... Yamashiro means "mountain castle" Incorporation of Japanese characters for "Yamashiro" would be nice like my current logo as uploaded > creativeness... Other Japanese symbols....Mt Fuji, Cranes, origami, blue wave in front of Mt Fuji (famous painting)
I used to work for Atari... the logo for the game company is a representation of Mt Fuji... I may play with that... it was fun to try to do the Japanese dolls anyway.
sorry - my home desktop computer is out for repair... harder to design on my tiny laptop. if still in top 5 I can do more later...
but when I had kids on it you didn't like that... I was thinking the pediatric dentist in my area has a totem pole outside... but not sure if anything like that works..
You like the fuji and the maple leaf and the Japanese characters (although these would be better if I could do it on the text rather than a trace of what you had before...
I am just uncertain of how to say kids...
was going with a panda but I thought that was chinese not japanese...
true, panda is universal normally obvious Japanese is sakura (cherry blossoms) I think you'll be in the top 5 allowing for more time like you say, I'd like to give you a chance to shine
so if the maple leaf were an outline of cherry blossoms on a branch and the maple leaf was a smaller part of the logo, would be one idea, if easier to work with can try out designs without my name in Japanese characters and see what sort of 'looks' you can come up with
a bit of research Tango no Sekku (端午の節句?), and was celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th moon in the lunar calendar or Chinese calendar. After Japan's switch to the Gregorian calendar, the date was moved to May 5. It was originally for boys but has since been changed to include both boys and girls. Until recently, Tango no Sekku was known as Boys' Day (also known as Feast of Banners) while Girls' Day (Hinamatsuri) was celebrated on March 3. In 1948, the government decreed this day to be a national holiday to celebrate the happiness of all children and to express gratitude toward mothers. It was renamed Kodomo no Hi.
That's all nice and dandy but I would still like the idea of two kids (boy and girl) riding the carp and losing the striped banner if needed And for the maple leaf can it be crossed maple leaf and cherry blossom (sakura) or just sakura flower
one more idea, maybe the kids is too cliché, one thing I do is have a small monkey on my stethoscope to distract kids.....so....a small monkey on the carp? http://morethengossip.blogspot.ca/
very funky look, original, can the "pediatric clinic" script be moved away and centred under yamashiro any easy way to integrate the Y "taller" into the maple leaf, guess that might mean making it part of "YPC" which makes the logo too "busy"?
maybe too complicated but there's Y/P/C integrated with the carp/koi flying thru the open part of the "P" with smaller Yamashiro Pediatric Clinic across the bottom Not sure if that even makes sense, just thinking out loud
have to take some time interpreting what you are asking... I think I get it... but doing this while waiting on approvals for rush orders today and I teach tonight ... might be better to tackle this tomorrow (sorry but it is a bit out of control at our office this week)
hi, I've extended the judgment for 10 days, so there's no rush, take your time, maybe I'm being loony or unrealistic but I want to make sure I'm not leaving any stone unturned thanks
Hi I think this still has promise, I have 4 days left in the contest, do you have time to straighten out the YPC somehow with the carp going thru with a more serious font for the script Yamashiro pediatric clinic? If you don't have more time, I understand
I can possibly try one more time but it looks like you are pretty settled on the panda... they are such different looks and concepts that I think you need to let us know your true leanings... as it does take time to make adjustments.
oh I wouldn't say that, it will come down to the best of your design and the other one, I have to weigh things, but I'd like the best iteration of both if possible, haven't decided at all
