Here is the wordmark I came up with for your Research Program: Entry #19. I went the clean, academic route, as I felt this would both represent you and Yale quite well. There is just enough of the initials to have them read accurately, yet the focus is then put on your full name.
If you are fond of this and have any requests for revisions, feel free to leave me a comment. Thanks.
Also, it could just be me, but every time I tried to incorporate an organ or a human or mouse form, it just felt cheesy and unprofessional. I will continue to see what I can do with these images if you feel that is something you definitely want to visually portray in your logo.
I looked up Yale's official branding and noticed that an alternate white option for use on darker colors is recommended. So, I wanted to let you see how that might look as well, in case you need to follow the brand guidelines or not: #22
Entry #25 uses a slightly more fun approach, with a light bulb made out of the "Y". This could be your main stand alone icon, as it reflects both Yale and innovation/ideas!
Thank you. We really like the clean design and text emphasis. However, we would like to have an symbol/image incorporated as well. Understood that the mouse/human might be difficult to portray professionally. We don't really love the lightbulb. We would appreciate it if you could try to incorporate a modern/abstract image that perhaps combines kidney and heart or images of basic science such as DNA while maintaining the style of #23, which is our favorite. Thank you.
I made a medical shield logo of sorts, with a subject inside highlighting both his heart and his kidneys. I think it successfully conveys what you do, while being a lot more memorable and attention grabbing than just a wordmark might be.
Entry #56 is the same as #54, but I included the Yale "Y" in the crest as well so that there is an instant connection between seeing this emblem and Yale.
