Thank you for selecting my work, I've uploaded the required eps and jpg images. You will be receiving on the dark background as well. If there are no further changes I go ahead and prepare a full file package.
OK, well we will select the one that enables the logo to display on the LT home page so that everyone gets some benefit. It is a lovely logo. thank you!
it's not huge deal, The site own Tyler he select desing to be placed on home page but those must be on a white background that all...
You will receive versions of the logo that work on dark and light and dark background plus other formats as well.
the choice is your which one to select as winning entry but you will receive versions for both light and dark surfaces. It's part of the requirements we must fulfill as LT members.
Scott: We have no interest in this, but if it helps you with your pursuits, we are happy to select the version that supports your goals. Let us know which version # gets it to the tournament front page if that is a consideration for you. We will select and move forward.
I prefer this version, the left peak looks best. We can always tweak after the contest is finalized that is not a problem...it actually more efficient be cause we can have direct contact, but during an active contest we cannot and need to rely on messages which is not always the best way to convey ideas.
Is it your vision to have that top point have sort of a flat top? I think it looks ok like this. You're the artist... the right skyline where it meets the bottom right point has a little ripple, too.
The top "point" of the left piece of the mountain is sort of 'blunted' off compared to all of the other points on the mountain. Do you like it the way it is?
We like the dark blue on white background, and the while on dark blue background. It is quite striking, really. Funny thing, I don't know if optical illusion, but the 'road' looks wider when dark logo on white background and narrower when white logo on dark background.
You know, honestly we are not sold on the solid element. I feel like the overall image loses 'balance' and would prefer to revert to the more simple version, no solid element. We think the simpler is more elegant in its simplicity. Less is more?
Scott: Sorry, we had to work for a day or two. The solid section is a 'maybe' but it would help to see what it looks like inverted with the graphic in color (try dark blue) and white background. Wondering what that solid will feel like in that scenario.
it make sense. The logo design it's self does not effect the web developer creates the site, in this case the logo should be white onto which ever color scheme selected for the site. My suggestin is to decide which color you want the design to be when it's on a light colored surface for example white logo on white well will not work :) I'll upload color optins for light surfaces
Understand completely, and we like the transparency effect of that header understanding that the visual effect changes with the hues of the underlying photo slide show. The logo floats about that and does not vary because it is not transparent, we need that fixed color overlay in our logo background to be something that is going to work nicely when overlaid on that somewhat varying transparent header hue. make sense?
I'd need to clarify color since the menu header is a transparency of the green used her eit will change depending on the photo behind it...if you watch the slide show the menu header background changes because of the transparency based on the green...does this make sense? you web developer can confirm this
We are planning to use a color scheme similar to or exactly like the link provided. Our web designers are using that site as a template and same header/foot colors.
Color is not an issue we can always adjust that after the contest. I always let Contest holde4r know that colors are never final as in most cases need refinement at a later date.
OK, let it be. We like the background color in the darker spectrum of blue, but need it to compliment and overlay well on the color bars of the header of our web design. Not sure how to experiment with that to get optimal hue of blue. The web site header will be 2-tone and same as this website's home page: http://www.crescenthospitalityllc.com/
Scott - Housing element is not a must. There are plenty of resort logos with no housing element. Put out there what you think is best. If anything, we want simple. Minimal is good.
I still want to keep away from any housing element and focus on the area in a minimalist way of course. But if housing element is an must have then there is not much else I can do that has not been done already. Please advise.
We are a 55-unit rustic style condotel built in 1965 primarily as lodging for the adjacent White Pass Ski Area. Tiny units. To call us a resort would be a stretch. We are a small lodging operator in a beautiful wilderness setting. Winter sports are key, but summers see many Pacific Crest Trail hikers and Mt. Rainier tourists. It is not about the interior, it is about the direct access to what is outside our door.
I've revised the mountain scape theoriginal path was to weak and did not fit the look and feel of the icon.
The White Pass icon is clean bold and well suited for any reproduction method from print and web to embroidering. The icon has a pleasing look and feel
Got your comment on the fonts, understand, we don't want you to supply the font engine, we do want you to use a font that we can go out and get, not create your own artistic font that we can't find for use anywhere. Thanks for clarifying.
I'll work on revision. I'd like touch upon font use. If you are looking to have the font engine included then that will be an issue...fonts are licsened for individual use. No designer should ever provided the ttf or oft files because it is in violatin of the licensing agreement,
This is why print house require any designs to have fonts converted to outlines.
If you have illustrator or CorelDraw then you most likely have the font I use.
I will name the font I use so that you can have your developers match accordingly but I will not supply font engines.
For example lets say I use Time Roman ai, cdr msword windows mac has time roman as part of their package. I could not send you the ttf (font engine) file because of licensing
Scott, thanks so much for joining the effort, good submissions. We like the simplicity of this, but are interested in seeing the font on Village Inn larger or maybe even equal to the font of White Pass. We need the font used to be freely and commonly available for web design, print materials, etc. We would lean toward a very clean font, sans serif, but we like fonts with thick lines so that the words pop, not thin weak letters. Or something like that. Would not change the graphic except to see it flipped 180. Not sure about that. Would it be hard to show us what that looked like?
You mentioned fee fonts, there are very few fee fonts that are available for commercial use. Any font sites that are designated free fonts are not 100% free for commercial use, yes they maybe free but for personal use only.
Font designer who uploads fonts to these site have a disclaimer stated for personal use only for commercial use you will need to contact that font developer.
Those who choose to use "Free Fonts" do at there own risk.
Commercial software such as Illustrator or CorelDraw have embedded fonts which can be used commercially without additional licenses.
