WEST KLogo Design Contest

hello thank you very much for ranking me, please let me have some feedback from you about the design

at the base of my design is the concept that a logo targeting the women's apparel customers, does't have to be complicated or have any kind of scripted or cursive fonts, or flowers in it

i wanted to be very strong with the design, i gave it just a little touch of golden ratio

please let me know what you think about it, you can also try different colors when you will get the files so let's concentrate more on the look

another nice thing you can do to see how the logo visibility work you can hold cntrl and scroll back with the mouse to zoom out the browser and see the logo is nice also at the smallest size

with this kind of logo you have endless opportunities with the use of different colors and backgrounds

hello, thank you for the suggestions. i liked how you placed it over the images too. it looks pretty good.
can we also give a little bit of space in between? the word west might look a little tight.

the space i left between the words is the same as the space taken from one letter do you like it to be bigger?

you don't actually need lot of space to make the people understand there is a space between the words

thats why all west letters are connectecd to each others

ok you mean west is too tight i understand let me spread out the letters then

#148 is what you mean, it looks good anyway however we both are artists i guess we both know that our experience makes a big difference during this process, but yes it looks good even if is not that tight

it is thight i made it so because west and k are very loud words and you need a loud way to represent them

every time i draw a logo for the fashion industry i hope that logo im working on it gain wordwide fame so i can tell others that im the one that draw that logo, and this is my philosophy but the person that can make the logo famous is you not me, it's up to you if your logo goes all around the world as a top womens apparel brand, i can only design it, but you have to build it

and i absolutely refuse the idea of decoration when i comes to logo design, logos appeared in our history just to mark goods not to decorate them

but there is still lots of people that believe decoration is basic for logos but that is only true for versace

everytime i go to miami i spend lot of time outside versaces house and enjoy versaces logo all over the house but thats one guy out of all the people in the entire planet, but yes to me versace is the only one that used a logo as decoration in the right way

and nobody else should try to go in the same direction

thank you for the quick response. i agree. this logo looks simple and modern. i don't think it needs any decorations either. sometimes the simplicity is what catches one's eyes and this one certainly caught mine.

yet decoration is still a key point in logo design, well i say no!! to be strong is the most important thing to me

on second thought.. now that i compare it side by side..i see why you omitted any spaces in between.

the font that i used is called bebas. to me is the number one font in the entire human history , i compressed the font in a golden rectangle

a golden rectangle is actually the sweetest thing the eye can look at

it represent nature, as well as the controll of nature elements that lead people to connect the golden rectangle to stability and tradition, same happen for the blue color, thats why ibm logo is a golden rectangle and also blue

the main element of my design is to be strong! that's what i support the most when i design logos, be strong

also a thin outline around the logo can look gentle , accomodating, confortable, thats not related to women's, i wanted to make a statement design something like a sign you can hold in the streets , think about if it was not a womens apparel but just a message you just wanted to bring to the streets

how would you represent? it if not in the most clear way possible

actually my life is all about the people i meet on the internet, is not just about your logo i learned many things today just interacting with you , that money can't buy

i looked all over the internet for a trace of your brand but couldn't find any,is there a website you have so i can look at it??

just one more thing, the difference between the thight west and spread out west is that the first solution also promote caos! the proportions are similar to nature and looks like caos but the eye see it like natural figure and remember it, we naturally recognize things when there is caos and sometimes is hard for us to remember when there is order

im not sure i explained this thought but im having a lot of fun, this is what matter to me the most

this will be a new label for us and will start showing this year.
you are right. the spread out west looks somehow boring compared to the tight one. i see there is a story there.

hi, sorry for the delayed response as I was out of town.
i tried opening the eps file with photoshop but got an error message?
in know it's the illustrated file but it usually opens with photoshop too.
could you please check and let me know?
