Hi, I've leveraged the shape of the currently used shield to link the new to the old. Having a connection like this can be useful for gaining 'buy in' to a visual brand change. In using the shield, I incorporated it into the image of the lion by having it describe the shape of the mane.
iRobin, I love the items that you have designed. Something feels very warm and aesthetically pleasing about Entry #2 while Entry #3 is much stronger. The word Veritas standing alone speaks to me.
Here is the feedback that I would like to provide. Please excuse any rambling as I am operating way out of my field of expertise.
After seeing all of the designs that were submitted, I see the need to clarify what I need. I want an image of a lion in our school colors that exemplifies the traits discussed in the profile. We would use the image of this lion as our official mascot and seek to incorporate its image into other elements of our school such as murals or designs that wed the full lion and our shield as it currently exists.
Hi, Thanks for the feedback, I'm enjoying the challenge of this logo.
#17 I used the V initial for two reasons. 1. It allows the crest to be unique to the school and recognizable even when used without the full text. 2. A strong initial can be used to subconsciously evoke a feeling of pride (pardon the pun) and belonging in an organization or team.
I placed the full body of the lion stepping out of the shield to symbolize stepping up to a challenge, taking the next step in life and the importance of thinking outside the square.
Love where you are going with this. If we made the lion larger in comparison with the size of the shield would we begin to overshadow the identity of the crest?
#18 More detail on the lion. I put this together before reading your last response... I guess we were going in the same direction. :) I like that this lion is looking strong and proud, yet also warm, friendly and compassionate.
