If you could present a variation of the logo with a richer blue and define the ball shape a bit more (it appears a bit too rounded - and, no, we are not trying to get it to look like an American football), the effect may be better realized. Would also like to see an incorporation of a rich red (Pantone 186, not sure of the RGB conversion) somewhere as a comparative.
Thanks for the feedback, I've uploaded a couple more with a richer blue and red included. I had made the ball shape less rounded but upon upload I see it may still need a little more 'americanising!' Let me know what you think anyway, Catherine
