Entry #3 - I really like the motif and although I do like the sophistication using the neutral color scheme, would also like to see it in a version with color added. As well, if you have other motif design ideas I'd like to see. I do think it's important to have something that can print in black & white, but also would be interested to see how you might incorporate color. I'm thinking down the road....business cards, marketing materials, etc. I, myself am a colorful person and although I have to think of how others will perceive / read the design I also would like to have a version incorporating color.....or thoughts on how this would be incorporated later should you win this contest and have further opportunities with me. Great job!!!
Thank you for the feedback. I 've just uploaded a black & white version and also a colorful just to see the design in different color schemes as requested and make cocclusions. #5 tried to shorten the flowers and the cross inside, this way the whole design lets say looks more "comfort". On the other hand, I am working on some new concepts regarding the motif idea and come back soon. regards, Hart
I definitely like the revision to the motif (flower / cross). It's funny, because although I did not note anything about crosses, I do LOVE crosses and it is also a part of me (Christian faith). In total, is more appealing and refined in design. I'll look forward to your other ideas!
So, I tried to make a more "religious" logo in the latest entries using the cross/flowers element. At this point, I 'd like to know if any of this samples (including the colors) meet your needs or getting closer, it would be very helpful for me. regards, Hart
Let's veer away from the religious logo....I like the subliminal idea of it, from the first design. I think my more favorite design is the first design, but I do fine #8 interesting. What would you think of a square version like a 'tile' you might see in architecture & interior design? This would be a 3rd design. I'm not 100% today which of the designs I would choose first design motif or #8. But we are getting closer.
Here are my thoughts on ALL in total. I am not ranking them yet as there are things I like about some but things from others I like that if merged would be the prefered. Make sense? Here are comments on ALL you have provided to date.
#3 and #4 - I like this design. I do think there is need for a black / white neutral version where needed for certain print when color will not work. So both of these would be a 'version' I would use based on 'how' and 'where' it would be used, but my ultimate choice of design would be incorporating some color.
#5 - I do not care for as the red is too primary and the yellow is to primary. I think other versions are better and/or could be modified. However, I don't see me using yellow as a font color.
#8 - I like this design and the font style. I do think the yellow tends to be too primary in color. I am going to find examples of colors I like and upload them to help show colors I like. With this said, you may need to advise me on what works best for print vs what I would use in an interiors application. Make sense? I tend to lean towards a tomato/brick red and yellows with more brown in them. And again, I do like shades of brown and warm cream colors. If brown is used it should not be too dark, but very warm. Again....I will upload and you can advise.
#9 - colors are just wrong. I prefer other versions.
#10 and #11......I do not like because of cross being too literal. I liked the subliminal. And of the circle pattern I like #8's the best.
I hope this is helpful. I would also like your thoughts on how this would incorporate into a business card, as if we used a colored background would you see this being a solid color card or squared off as it appears. Please feel free to ask me anything or to clarify more. I am off to find colors to post ;)
I also wonder if the original design #3 being clean and neutral is the way to go vs. my desire for color. I just can't help but want some color in there. Even if it's just adding the red somehow. Ask me about interior design I can answer in a heartbeat....color in a logo, I get a little overwhelmed :)
Debbie, thank you for the great summary, so far I had the time to only work on the square version of 'tile'. I will get back with more details shortly. regards, Hart
made 3 new designs based on the tile idea #18, #19, #20 . Also, I wanted to create a motif based on the #8 the one you find interesting so these are #22 #23
Up to now the ones it seems you prefer most are #3 and #4 , I tried to add color somehow as this is your desire for the ultimate logo, I believe the spots that are located in the perimeter of the design are ideal place to be colored, their tiny size do not overide the whole design.
Warm Brown colors like those you provided seems to work nicely with the motif designs rather than yellow or red. Talking about printing process, the darker color the better result when it comes to small characters on a small card (to get more safe on that very important is the background color). Dont be so worried now since these are the details that you will be able to discuss and fix with the winner after the contest is finished. So, I am curious to hear how you find the new concepts. Hart
I really love #23..... I am trying not to worry about the 'color' issue, but did have feedback from a friend advising me to think how it will appear on letterhead and/or when need be in a black/white copy and that I should consider a logo without a colored background. Personally I like the color and like you said we could modify through the process to view several versions. Because of this I'd like to see how you would address this.
Thanks for all your guidance and your work done. This is exciting, but a real process...sometimes becoming overwhelming :)
Debbie, Here are some versions on colored background, #81 #82 & #80 #83 , actually the color of it comes from the original artwork (brown/cream) as it would be incorporated into a business card or solid color paper. Also, made a version for the other design, the one you are having under consideration #84 #85. I will be at your disposal for further revisions on the concepts. regards, Hart
