I like this, and I like the "more fun" colors you selected. I'm not a fan of the shadow at the bottom, as it might be hard to work with in some contexts. I like how the logo "communicates" something. Anther concept that might be worth exploring would include a newspaper, so something else that communicates news. Thanks for your efforts. Good job.
