Nice design on 38! How about making the letters in the red and green, like red on top, green in the middle and then red on the bottom? Thanks for the submissions! JC
My wife likes 38 and she is the ultimate judge. Please try the letter lines in green, red, green. And then reverse to red, green, red.Fill the "O" with dual colors of orange and yellow as found on a Sicilian flag if possible. Again, nice work and looking forward to seeing the revisions! JC
My wife still likes 38 the best! She recommends making the font of "Pizzico" a bit smaller and then possibly adding " A Pinch of Italy" below either in black like the regular letters or tri-color! Very much in the running at the last moment to be a top finalist!
Next suggestion: can you wrap the lettering above and below the Trinacria as you had originally did in 38? Above to read "UN PIZZICO D'ITALIA", and then below "A Pinch of Italy". She likes your clean lines very much!
Thank you. Here are entries #48 and #49 with Pizzico text smaller and two color options for "A Pinch of Italy", as requested. Sorry, I didn't get the last suggestion. Did you really mean #38 or were you referring # 39? Well, about this, I just need to know, do you want "Un Pizzico D'Italia" at the first line, the Trinacria at the second one and "A Pinch of Italy" at the third? If so, how do you want the center of the Trinacria? Do you want it with Medusa's head, as featured in Sicilian flag?
Ugh, can we see this? Script above the Trinacria black/white with "UN PIZZICO D'ITALIA", script below tri-color with "A Pinch of Italy" like 48. Trinacria stays like 38
Wow, 69 is beautiful and if we were opening our business in Italy this is what we would use because the symbolism is there. But it would be lost on the average American! Still, it makes me wonder what the colored designs would look like against a black field. Again, gorgeous work and kudos to your talent! Thanks, John
Lol, my wife is 100% Sicilian first and Italian second! In fact I met her in Sicily and had to almost drag her to America! What do you think the color designs would look like against a black field or do you think that would make it too hard to replicate on building signs, embroidered products, etc.?
The best way to know is asking the designer to try the logo in differents colors, over different color backgrounds. To find the best logo you have to imagine how they are going to be used. If you think you will use them in one single color I recommend you to ask the designer to make a one single color version of the logo and see how it looks, maybe in two versions (light and dark backgrounds). To use the logo with all the colors presented till now, the black would have to be replaced by white when over a dark background. If you think the logo will be used in very small labels, for example, it helps if it is clean and legible. The designers should think about these things, but sometimes some of them don't do, or forget to do it. I chose a concept related to neoclassical style. If your business is in a neoclassical building, it would be compatible. You see, even the architecture counts when making and choosing a logo.
I also have to say, in case the logo is inside a closed geometric shape, you will still have the option to use it as-is over dark backgrounds, mantaining all its colors.
Ok, that was enough to make my head swim! But great info and I am grateful, thank you. The logo will be used on the store sign, business cards, clothing items (black is too hot here in South Texas for 8 months out of the year), etc. But nice to know that once we decide on a logo we can change the background if desired. I appreciate the lesson, it seems I have so much to learn that sometimes I don't know what I don't know if that makes sense!
You're welcome! I recommend you ask the designer to try different colors before selecting and ending the contest to make your decision easier and right.
Ok....I thought I had been doing that with the feedback and these chats and the modifications you have done so far! So, can you show me 67 and 48 against black (obviously you will have to make the black lettering white)? It will be interesting to see, and I will ask the same of your sole competition. Thanks, John
You sure has being doing. I'll try to do them on black backgrounds in time, before the Selection phase, when only the first ranked designer is allowed to send new entries, but you can change who's in first at any time in order to receive the entries of a specific designer. And, well, the logo doesn't "need" to be in white over a dark or black background as I said, it can have a light color. Thing is when the logo is white over black you can see perfectly if it works through the contrast.
Ok, the next part is new to me as well! I thought the selection part would have been from the top 2 or 3. Darn, this is difficult but to be honest, I don't regret a moment because I get to see such talent!
Oh heck! We are working to do what we can this evening because tomorrow I will be at work for another 24hr, so the next process will slow down! My wife and I both love what you have provided! Thanks, John
Thank you so much! I will push this as late as I can to let my lovely wife have time to decide. There are no losers here, the submissions are incredible and need to be added to everyone's portfolio!
