Good start Perhaps a close up of barley, or a field of barley would be good. The barley in this shot is not quite right, but on a good track. Add some saphire blue, perhaps where 'Brewing Company is"
#11 Okay, let's look at simplification. Make the upper border all black again. Eliminate the gold pan and sapphires, and put those barley heads in their place. Get that field bigger like in the first design. I like the almost photographic quality of it, but I'm beginning to think maybe that's not the way to go... it's a logo after all, not a full label for an individual product. Sorry I'm waffling, just not quite sure which direction to take. Let's try to put the focus on the grain.
#18 I have a crazy idea. What if you take the basic shape on the top and instead of going straight down with it, angle downward to a point at the bottom. Then the whole thing takes on the outline shape of a faceted gem. The blue mountains inside then make us think of sapphires. Maybe? I know it would require removing the grain entirely and changing the banner style somehow to accommodate the words.
# 18 I made a comment earlier that didn't post so I'll try again. These are pretty mountains and I like the sky with them, but it makes the barley look out of place. I hate to choose between purple mountain majesty and amber waves of grain, but somehow it's hard to blend the two in this context. It would be interesting to see one with just the mountains, and one with just the fields side by side to compare.
#28, looking back at these I really like the wheat field. Can you lower the field so it shows a little more sky. It would be really cool if you could add a combine to the field. Massey Ferguson like or I'll catch hell from my inlaws. The border on the diamond could be a little bit thicker, and the blue isn't quite right, black may be better, or a different blue.
