Hi Sue,

Entry 2 is a good start. The colors are a good start and the woodcut seems to be on the right track.

The text is a little small in comparision to the rest of the logo. I guess to make it larger you'll have to put it on two or three lines.

Not crazy about the banner, it seems simple in both shape and color. Maybe we could use another one?

If we could add some accents to add to the sophistication, like http://debbielynne.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/d1390killians-irish-red-posters.jpg
I'm not saying so much in regards to the colors, just in the sizes of fonts, diamond with pattern, emphasis is on the text, etc.

Thanks Sue, it's looking good.
Best regards,
Mike

Entry 3

Hi Sue,

Much better text, liking the reverse out. Calls attention to the fact that the logo is about fudge immediately.

I like what you did with the oval change. Adds more to the picture and text.

Still hoping for some accents to add to the sophistication. What about flipping the banner 180 degrees and adding 5 stars? Small stars, (but 5), like http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-illustration-11309743-golden-star.php . Or adding the stars to somewhere else in the logo?

Thanks Sue, you're very close.
Best regards,
Mike

Ahhh.... Sue, let's back up.

Here's what I liked about 4.
1) On the right and left directly above "Tom's Homemade", you took the empty space and added curved lines. They look good. Almost like a flag. If this had color, the lines could be red and white like the American flag. Actually, you might add the stars in this area as well.
2) It looks like you added a stroke to the text, I like it. It covers the banner behind the text completely.
3) "The Original". I love the idea, maybe say "Made Fresh".

Here is where I feel we went backwards a bit.
1) I liked the text white, I felt that it stood out more.
2) I felt that by adding an arc to the word "FUDGE" it isn't as readable as it was before. I'm guessing you did it to create space for the stars and "The Original". Let's leave it right now and see the text with the white color. It may work with the white color.
3) Stars - I should have been more clear. I am looking for the "five" star experience, like hotels are given ratings of "5 stars" and resturants as well. The stars need to be the same size and all together and 5 in a row. The five stars are meant to establish quality. They can be in the woodcut (above the kettle, on the kettle. the kettle handle is what Tom is holding with his left hand.). Another is on the outer oval, by Tom's left eye.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Mike

Looking good,

Entry #6 is our favorite right now. I like what you did with the stars and stripes. I'm thrilled for what we have especially everything above and including the text "Tom's Homemade". Let's not touch that part anymore right now.

On 6, Let's remove the 5 stars on the bottom of the oval. It doesn't look as good as the text ("The Original") that you have from entry #4. On 6, replace the stars with the text "Made Daily", using the same font and color from entry #4.

Let's see what that looks like. I'm still not thrilled with the banner but understand that it is needed. It looks better now that you centered it with the word "Fudge".

Thanks,
Mike

Ps. liked the color logo, but need the two color logo for printing purposes.

Hi Sue,

Looks great. I'm going to think about it for a bit. I saw the white in the stars, but I want the text to stand out without any distractions.

Which is your favorite and why?

Thanks,
Mike
