This is really cool. I'd be curious to see it with the graphic off to the side rather than on top (though I'm not sure how that will affect the feel of this particular logo).
Also, I'm *mildly* concerned about how that brown will look in print. I use a particular heavy stock paper that is not-quite-white for mailing bills and letters. I'll see if I can't get the exact brand/color for your reference tomorrow.
thank you for the feed back. i'm very pleased that you're find it cool.
please check: #28 - #29 (icons are on the left side)
about the color, i'm pretty sure you're gonna love what you'll see 'cause it's just the middle of yellow & brown (matte gold) and it's color code is very precise (0/20/60/20 in cmyk which means accurate result on every enough quality printer)
Nice. I do think I prefer #28 to #29. My wife prefers #13. My concern with #13 is that I think it will be harder to lay out a business card with a vertical setup as opposed to #28's horizontal. She may end up convincing me otherwise.
Thanks for the note about your choice of color space. I wish they had a spot on each entry to specify whether it was CMYK or RGB based. I've got a nice Samsung laser printer, so if you're working in CMYK I am unconcerned :)
About the color scheme, I usually use solid colors to prevent printer accidents unless the client requests the contrary.
Just to ease you and your wife's decision, I have prepared a simple business card design with both setups but please note that you can use different setups in different applications as well. ie. left sided for website and top one on business cards etc. I can present both applications at the end of the contest if requested.
That is really awesome. Thank you so much for that. I have no doubt that I'll be working with you when we have to select our "top 5" designers. Don't pay much attention to the ranks right now. I move things around a lot for a number of reasons, but you are most definitely a front runner.
If you don't end up winning, I may want to speak to you after the fact about business card design. I really do like what you've mocked up there. So please, whatever happens, stick around or make sure I get contact info from you before the contest is done.
Don't take any meaning from your grey one going into the "non-interesting" pile. I'm just cleaning up, and I far prefer the brown trunk design of #13.
I was wondering if you could mock up a version with multiple colors in the leaves. I think one thing holding me back from putting this higher is that I seem to be gravitating toward the designs with a little more warmth in their tones. Maybe go with early fall colors for the leaves (orange, yellow, red, etc) or a mixed spring-fall?
Now, for some feedback. :) I do love this design, and I appreciate you working with me to change it up a bit.
I do like the added color, but this particular color set isn't quite working for me with the leaves. I see more Christmas lights than leaves (my wife says "gumdrops!"). It might well be that with this leaf design multicolored leaves won't work so well, and we may need to stick to single color leaves (or a gradient of some kind, maybe).
I think I prefer the 'less branchy' people entries, like #28 and #121
I'm not feeling the shade of orange you used in #123 and #124. I don't exactly know why, but if you could try some other color combinations, I'd really like to see them. Maybe if the people were green and the leaves were orange/gold? I like the idea of the leaves being the splash of color in the design.
I wish I had more specific suggestions - I feel like this is really close but not quite there, and just needs... *something* to nudge it over. Thanks again for all your work.
Thank you so much for all of your work. I really love your design, but I just don't think it's the right direction for my law firm. My wife and I went back and forth on it for the last couple of days. In the end, I honestly couldn't decide, so I looked through the comments and ranks of my friends, family, and colleagues (we invited about 20 people to take part).
While yours was often in their top 5, the other logo was better received more frequently. In the end, since this is a marketing device, I do need to factor that in.
That said, I would love to have your contact information for future work (business cards, letterhead, etc) when I'm ready for it and to pass on to others that could use your services.
Again, thank you so much for all your hard work, and I'm sorry it didn't pan out for you.
thank you for your interest and kindness. it's really not big deal, your satisfaction comes first. we (designers) can sell our unchoosen design in another contest ana 1st ranked designer did a great job :)
