Hi twonzone - as much as I like this logo - especially the process of developping it with you ;) - many people see it as too heavy, too detailed, especially with regards to the flower. Which is a pity because I like the dog very much. I don't think it'll work with the new lettering either. People seem to go more for simple yet elegant designs - like your very first one, which unfortunately is based strongly on the word TCM. Sorry to see this one go :( ...
This seems to be also very popular :)! I like the neatness of the round design with the small line - it looks like a stamp.
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY: from the survey feedback I understood that my lettering is misleading, hence I had to change the brief from "TCM Tierheilpraxis Niegsch" to "Tierheilpraxis Niegsch - Akupunktur und Phytotherapie" with the emphasis on "Tierheilpraxis Niegsch". In this design it shouldn't be too difficult to incorporate, I think - I am so sorry for the inconvenience!!
Hi twonzone, this logo is very well received because of it's clarity and simplicity. However, due to the "technical" style font it is seen as cold, rather related to IT than holistic medicine. I really like that "Tierheilpraxis Niegsch" is so well legible. Could you try to either keep the M as it is and make the edges of the T and C more rounded, i.e. softer. alternatively you could use another, "slimer" font as the M is so massive looking. And how about an eye for the dog, too :)?
Hi twonzone, several comments from the survey so far mentioned that it would be nice if the dog would be facing towards and not away from the lettering - would that be difficult for you to try out?
the Only difference I can detect between # 75 and #75 is the slightly lowered ear? But I don't think the nose is really necessary and would leave it out. Shall we wait with further alterations until we have more feedback from the survey?
That looks nice too, but I think I still prefer the mouth in #74 ! How about extending the front paw slightly and making the line finer, especially at the paw?
I am not quite sure but is it in this design that you altered the mouth slightly? If so, I like it very much - could you incorporate it in #72 with the pointed ears, please?
Including the eye looks really good, what do you think? Thank you for offering further alterations, but I have included a number of your logos into my survey. I think we are already at the fine tuning stage and it might be worth waiting for some comments to come in to include those. I'll get back to you once I have received some feedback and might even run a second survey if useful.
The same applies for the leg position, but I prefer the position of the head in a straight profile position - or you would need to add at least one eye to make it work?
Hi twonzone! Thank you for your new updates. I like the idea with the floppy ears, although I think they should be lowered a bit. Also you altered the leg position, but physiologically they need to be outstretched horizontally, otherwise the anatomy doesn't work. Could you please lower the elbow so that it's in line with with the thorax and then extend the leg straight forward - thank you :)!
Thank you very much for working on this idea, twonzone! It's still one of my favourites, but I must admit I think #59 works better ;) - it's more striking, especially when seen from a distance or in small print
Yes!! That looks great! I prefer the TCM font to the one in #58, but would still go in the second line for the font you used in your very first design #27. And please, no leaves at the rib cage/abdomen, it looks a bit silly and is not necessary. Maybe the front leg needs to be outstretched, but that can wait until I can show the short list to people.
If you don't mind and have the time - I like the flower but would still like to see the effect of a more natural looking bloom, like a magnolia for instance ;) ... otherwise this can also be left for finetuning - I am pretty sure this design will make it onto my list of favourite three logos! Thank you so much for your input so far!
I had a look at fonts so that I can give you a better idea on what I like - also I will use a free font as I have no additional money to spend on fancy fonts ;). I just tried the TCM lettering and my favourite fonts were: Yuanti TC regular, Futura and Calibri.
That's all for today - I look forward to some more proposals tomorrow :)!
Hi twonzone, I noticed the adjusted neckline, thank you for that! However, in comparison to the new designs with the larger flower I think in the logos # 50/49/47/46/ as well 45 the flower is to small - it looks like an embellishment or just a frame and it doesn't stand out as a graphic element in its own right. And - sorry to be so blunt - but I really dislike this font ;)! Could we go back to the font of # 27, please? At least the "Tierheilpraxis" is much nicer :)!
The same as in # 43 the flower is much more prominent and I like it as a backdrop against the dog. Here the flower stalk lends itself nicely as a border. I would like to propose two more ideas for you to play with:
1. Could you make the flower look like more natural and less stylised? For example Magnolia officinalis has petals which are more the same length, but depending of their position and the perspective it can look quite interesting.
2. I would be interested to see the effect of the dog actually stepping out away from the lettering, i.e. the front legs would be visible as well as part of the back line. Does that make sense to you?
This is the same logo as #34, just with a different font. I actually prefer the font you used in #27 for the "Tierheilpraxis". As mentioned before the branches of the tree don't work so well for me.
Thank you for incorporating my comments. However, because of the flower stem the neck line of the dog looks out of shape. And now that I searched for a specific plant I am afraid just any flower won't do ;). Somehow your last two logos don't appear on Logotournament yet, so unfortunately I cannot rank them.
Have a look at magnolia - Hou po in Chinese. It's a one of my favourite plants actually with a striking flower - would a dog placed inside work? Or both as part of the yin yang monad?
Thank you for asking about the flower! It made me think that everybody is quite tired of looking at ginkgo leaves ;). I'm still searching for a plant that may work well instead, even if people don't know its name they"ll understand the connection - as much as with a stylised flower.
This one is more balanced, but I often see the dogs intertwined in the shape of a monad. The font is better, but still not quite my taste - I don't know how to explain it any better. In any case I liked the "slimmer" C better if this is of any help.
No specific flower actually - at least not in Germany. Even if flowers are used in phytotherapy nothing but a ginkgo leaf is known well enough to create a connection to TCM.
Hmm ... interesting, but the "flower" shape reminds me personally of a lotus flower, hence I think of yoga or meditation. With regards to the lettering please see my comment in #29
This one certainly creates impact! But I would leave the connection to the tree out, it doesn't add clarity. Also could you have a look at the font of "TCM" please? It is very angular, especially the M. Is there a slightly softer font which doesn't compromise on clarity?
Hi twonzone, I like the overall look and in particular the shape of the dog's head - it distinctively looks like a dog ;)! On the other hand when the graphic element is placed within the word TCM it takes away some of the impact - people may not even notice it's a word, but it is what distinguishes me from other people working as "Tierheilpraktiker", so it is important to me.
