(previous comment about entry #3; this comment about entry #8)
this doesn't feel strong enough (meaning, i'd want a stronger feel). maybe it's the font. my first impression is that this looks like a logo for a dance studio. i do like having some kind of iconic image, like the hat, though i don't think the hat is the right image (or, at least that hat).
i'm not sure it will work if you tried this, but a more masculine font combined with a cap/hat that feels revolutionary (http://www.altrec.com/mammut/revolution-cap) would fit the feel i'm looking for more.
better font. could still be more comically strong (is there such a thing as a font that feels intimidating?)
can you tell me what's going on with the C? i can't tell if it's a claw mark, or a rip of some sort, or what.
and, as i said in my previous comment, while i'm not convinced that any hat will work as an icon, i don't think that's the right hat (although, i will concede, it looks much less "dance studio" with the new font!).
here's what i'm wondering: rough stamped font (like it was spray-painted with a stencil on a shipping box). if we have the hat, then try something like the revolution hat i linked to in my previous comment. maybe the whole thing (hat and all) are stencil painted on the side of a box (like a wooden shipping box that would have cartel-like items in it). just brainstorming here...
Thanks again for the great feedback. I apologise for not submitting more varied entries but I have been battling with somehow trying to balance the juxtaposed messages you are trying to convey. On one hand you want the cartel/mysterious/intimidating vibe yet the logo is for a clean/churchly/honest venture.
The C is actually the silhouette of a man's face (difficult to see on these small thumbnails). I will think hard about your latest comments and get something back to you ASAP. Thanks again.
