Thank you for your submission! Wow ....great movement in the design. Would be interested in seeing a couple of other color combinations (possibly purple and gold on a black backgrund) Also could try a variation just using large "WDF" with "the Wylie Draper Foundation" in a smaller font. we sometime just refer to the foundation as "WDF".
These are the first two using "WDF" and "The Wylie Draper Foundation" in a smaller font. Just a color change between them to show you what that looks like.
Did you sleep last night? I see you have been very busy.... Great work!! We have a lot of things to look at will be getting back to everyone a little later this afternoon!
I did get a little sleep last night :-) This is my design from #12 using a circle instead of the square as another option. It's no trouble at all to change the colors on any of these, or mix and match.
Thank you again for the feedback, I really appreciate that. I'll get to work on it now.
I also wanted to take a moment to mention that I respectfully disagree with the post stating that solid colors pop far superior in print than gradients. Sometimes they do, sometimes they do not. It depends on the color, the background color, what you are printing on (newsprint vs magazine quality)...any number of things. A well known example of one of many logos that use gradients: http://www.salesquest.com/docs/ups_logo.gif
This is #9 with the date removed and a thin, bright outline added around the elements. If I misunderstood, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm happy to make variations for you to see.
We have judging questions that will be coming to you shortly. we will be changing one of your designs back to #1 so that we can address them. Thank you for your patience and great work!!!
#61 in the layout like #20 & #17 (of course using the Sun Icon from #61)
We would also like to see #16 using the sun icon from #61 keeping the purple waves.
As soon as we recieve the last revisions from our other designer I will move #61 to the 1st place position so that we can discuss any further design revisions.
Also, if you have any thoughts or suggestions about other color combinations beyond purple/yellow & blue/yellow. we would love to see. the purple is very strong and of course represents royalty but we are open to other color palets that might push in different direction but keep the heart of the design in tact!
Thank you very much for the opportunity. I'm sorry I had just missed your message, I had left for an appointment shortly before and I'm on my way back now. I'll have those variations done as soon as possible, definitely this afternoon.
This is #74 with some changes. It uses a different shade of purple in the waves and a different gold tone in the letters. It's a subtle difference, but it does change the look a bit as an option.
This one uses more yellows than oranges for a different look. I can mix and match any of these. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you would like to see the colors from one with another, or anything at all.
Thank you very much for the update. I thought I would take a moment to explain what I was thinking with the design, as I realized I hadn't done that yet. I wanted to illustrate the pursuit of a dream, and I think the horizon is a good symbol for that. The bright, warm sunrise is symbolic of a bright future and the motivation to pursue that dream.
