Of course it can :)
I'll create the word "wood" from multiple planks of wood (like I did inside the cirlce) instead of one long plank. It'll take me a little while to do that, so please check back in a bit.

more grain

I withdrew my entry with more wood grain because I didn't like the result. I rushed to get it done because I knew the contest was ending and I wouldn't be at my computer (last night was the only night my daughter had time to go prom dress shopping).
