Thanks for getting the ball rolling on this tournament! This is an intriguing first offering.
What we like: ~> That the rabbit and the vespa have a bit of sketch feel. Part of the application of this logo (or another version of it) will be for a rubber stamp that we can use for our brown paper bags, and sticker which we will use to fold and enclose the cheese after we've hand-sliced it (all of our cheeses will be handsliced so that customers can afford whatever weight they want). ~> The typeface/font. We like that it is easy to read, but still has movement to it, as we don't prefer block lettering.
Otherwise: ~> We are incorporated as "The Welsh Rabbit Cheese Shop" so "farmstead cheeses" doesn't work in our logo. ~> While the Rabbit barely hanging on to the vespa is whimsical, it does not capture the "enjoying the leisurely ride" we talked about in our creative breif.
We're running around a bit crazy today, but I wanted to give you some quick feedback. Once the three of us have a chance to sit down together and come up w/ some more detailed comments, and we'll post again.
thanks for your new submission. While we like the simplicity of the Vespa, The rabbit itself still isn't capturing what we're trying to communciate. Also, The cheese "world" is too blatant...we were something that connotes more of a "journey" than just travelling around the globe.
We really like the font. However, we are not crazy about the yellow outline. We know that this is because of the cheese wheel. We would like to see a larger rabbit on the Vespa with the scooter angled instead of a side view. I think making the rabbit larger will enable him to be more upright which will make him look like he’s enjoying the ride more and not in such a hurry. Perhaps since he’s not racing as much even his ears will come forward a bit or be upright. Or maybe the footboard of the Vespa can be shortened up to also enable the rabbit to not stretch out so much. Again, the cheese wheel isn’t working for us, but I do think the Vespa needs to be “grounded” somehow.
I am being kept busy with regular job and 2 other contest - so I'm afraid my time is limited - Josh has some great designs in this contest and he's always willing to help, the font is a free font for all to use, just pass the link onto him. Thanks, anyway, Mike
thanks for your graciousness. Have a good day and good luck on the other contests. Do you have any other designer recommendations? While we like what Josh is doing, part of our draw to LT was having a wide variety of designers in the process.
I'll rattle on the forums from this end, but you'll most likely get a good number in the last couple days of contest. Remember You'll have 7 days in judging mode as well and you can switch each designer to 1st rank position during judging and tweak the designs you like - if I have time I still may jump back on the "vespa" but keep leaving good feedback and you'll get the design you want! thanks, Mike
