hi teresa,
i don't know if you saw the updated brief, but i'll paste it here so that you have a lot more information about what we're looking for:
thanks!
_____
Thanks for all the great submissions so far!
We have heard feedback from some designers that "outside-the-box" ideas are typically not rewarded on this site, and that safer, more "corporate" logos usually win. THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE. We are looking for something truly creative and original. We are a non-profit trying to break new ground, and the last thing we want is to appear safe or corporate.
We teach high school and college-aged performers to sing, act, and dance, but the higher priority is to teach them how to be brave and how to find their artistic voice. We value heart and character, and we love the oddball. We encourage students to risk failure, avoid artistic safety, and we help them embrace originality.
There can be a sense of that "danger" in our logo. We do want to appear professional, but with a "wink." We are very selective, and there is a mystique about us. People whisper and wonder what it's like to go through our program.
Finally, there is a sense of joy. We're about sharing and fostering the love of art for art's sake, and we rigorously curate a positive, supportive environment.
