Hello,

Here are my submissions for your review. I chose to show the whole facade of the building, so that the building does not look like apartment units. I kept the color bright enough to look contemporary, but slightly muted to give it the feel of "old world tradition". I'm also presenting a few font option again mixing traditional serif fonts with modern san serif fonts. I tried to make each design different, so that you can mix-n-match, if you will, the fonts, layout rendering style...

For entry #146 I brought out the building wing slightly, to reflect the actual shape of building's foundation (I'm not sure how necessary it is to do so, but I did want to offer that option). I made the building as accurate as possible from what I could gather from the artist rendition. I realize that the building is not complete and my google earth street view of the building only showed the building foundation and elevator shafts. I'm not sure how old the street view, but if the project has progressed, then I can make more accurate changes to the facade of the illustration.

I like the thin line around #146 but I like the overall simplicity of this one.

The building brings in the old and the simplicity brings in the new. That is what these condos are about. Old but not dead.

I don't like the typical 'ribbon'.

So can we combine the two a bit to see how it looks?

As we near the end of the contest, please keep in mind I am only ranking these according to MY taste. I will then need the vote of four others in my company to make the final decision - so my 1st choice may not end up being theirs. So please keep submitting unique designs.

Thanks for the feedback. Please let me know what else you might like changed. I tried toning the colors down, but I guess that was not the key. :) Please see my first comments about the building. Maybe I'm missing the mark. I should have thought to ask, will these be rental units? Would you rather I do a tighter shot and focus more on the units? This will give the building more appeal and sense of affordability. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on improving the logo.

I like the non-straight on angle of 188 but the oval of 180.

I am afraid they may look too much like it belongs on a cheese item. Is it the colors?

I pulled yours out of the ranking because we have not found what we want. I am not going to rank right away for the new ideas - but will give feedback individually because I feel people are getting too swayed in one direction and not allowing for new ideas to flow.

I had a bit of a delay due to last minute tax issues... always the worst part of the year. lol

Anyway, I wanted to get a few ideas in and hopefully buy some time if I get in the Top 5 again. I tried the crest, but I felt the double headed eagle resembled the German or Russian Federation insignia too much. And unless you are well versed on the Earl of Loudon, there might not be any association to the crest. The other issue I was personally having is that you asked that we stay away from the dreary colors. (Solely on a personal view, I feel the unless the crest has a historic old look it loses it sense of regalness. Of course this is just my opinion.) Instead, I took the "Country Club feel" route and decided to try a feel options. I tried to keep the logos simple and elegant and hopefully my new versions is moving in the direction which appeals to BCI.

As before your feedback and change request would be very much appreciated.

Yes the birds were getting out of hand! That's why I stopped ranking. Everyone kept copying #1 rather than coming up with new ideas. I was basically picking the one I I didn't like the least! Haha

I have made a suggestion to logo tournament that they reprogram the site to allow for ranking for each designer first as well as give feedback. The ranking could be seen by all and if the client suddenly wants, say, birds - he can post a public comment.

As far as your most recent designs, I think they look too much like the Cadillac logo.

I hear what you are saying about the colors but I think some of them are working with the brighter colors. It just can't look muddy.

Can you please try using the LH from 388 with 391. 391 looks like HL (House of Loudon)

Just so it looks like LH not HL.

Try the simple circle and perhaps one with something more on it?

I submitted a few more combinations. I made each one slightly different, but feel free to request any other combination. I thought about adding a crown, but before adding more elements into the logo, I wanted to get your feedback. Also, if you need to see any of these in black and white, just let me know and I'll upload them ASAP.

Thank you for your latest designs.

I feel the shiny gold is hard to read and won't reproduce well on some items.

I will give more feedback as I examine them more and sift through them.

I like the 'filigree' look to 415 but the color balance of 411. More of the blue and less of that green.

If we are using script, I prefer to use a non-script "The". Too much script especially with the filigree looking ones.

I don't really like the little scrolls in 388 and 387

I like the straight line across the top of the Name better

I like the color choices in 377 or 390 if you are going with all blue. I like that balance. That green is starting to bug me. That shade of green, anyway.

If I had to pick one right now, I would pick 390.

But I would still like to see:
"HL" in 390
with 415 Font
"THE" non-script font
Colors: one in 411 AND one in 390

Same thing above except with Filigrees. Both kind (415 and 414)

I was having a difficult time trying to keep up here since when we upload the files that file name changes to the number of the entry. I then have to figure out which LT number corresponds to which logo I uploaded. I think that I have covered the request (and maybe more than requested to cover my bases.)

I was going to try to do a few with a crest version, but the more I researched building logos with crests, the more I kept seeing the same type apartments popular in the sixties.

Again, this is just my opinion, but I feel that the crest may look more medieval rather than the Georgian Style architecture. Another option I can try is using a fleur-de-lis, but that also seemed overdone by low-end rentals trying to sound high end - lol. Anyway, any other suggestion you may want to throw out, I'd love to give it a shot, even the crest, if that's what the owners want. :)

That's why I asked people to use it as an inspiration only because I was not getting anything unique from anyone. I had to keep extending until I got something other than logos that looked like they came out of a Hotel logo data bank.

It's more the country club look that we need rather than the royal look. Using the royal history and influence in the country club like logo is how it should be designed - at most.

I have asked the others to tone theirs down.
Yet, my main boss may want want one that is 'fancier' than yours is.
Just letting you know.

I am on my iPhone right now so I can't see the logos as well as I would want to. Will look at the closely when I wake back up again. I will see if I can make any other suggestions.

It looks like your design has the most votes from our office. Congratulations.

We would just like to see the logo in the colors of #407 - enzobluebird's design. I think the slightly bolder colors would show up better on the signs. The light blue concerns me a bit.

Also - we were originally considering this website because we felt the colors looked rich in the template. :

Please do as soon as you can. This logo search has turned into a much longer process than anticipated.

We really need to get it nailed down so we can move forward with all the other marketing materials which hinge on this.

I hate to even ask this, but the one comment that keeps coming up is that it looks like the cadillac car symbol. I wish we could use something other than those laurel leaves:

Although you won, the similarity to the Cadillac emblem is driving me crazy. Can you please just entertain me and perhaps use the ermine symbol all in a row (that may be nice, actually) or some other design? Since it's both the shape AND the Laurel Leaves, I just feel it's too similar. Since the shape can't change, maybe the leaves can change.

Hi,

I tried a few more wreath using different leaves and the ermine. I also tried the ermine in a row, but they looked like hula dancers - lol. In #491 I did it in the traditional leaves, but made the wreath not gets as close to each side and slightly lower than #483.

Ok - the hula dancers for sure because the other is too Cadillac. How about other colors?

#481 is not as bad when I first looked at it.
