I like 11 better than 12. Instead of the blue longhorn, perhaps a brown hat draped over the scales. I would like it to be easily recognizable as a one-color image as well. Also, though I graduated from UT, and am therefore partial to the Longhorn image, I would perfer to stay away from that in my logo. I prefer a hat draped (hanging at an angle) over the scales. Also, tipping the scales might work better.
I like this idea, but it is still a little too symmetrical for me. perhaps drape the hat over one side of the bar, and add some boots somewhere. I like the black lettering better than the blue.
