We love the retro-style look to this.. What a WELL thought out design here! Really impressive. The reason we don't have it as number one right now is the colors. Can we try some different colors a bit to make it POP? So impressive.

Thanks again!

I will definitely futz with the colors and have some variations for you tonight. I wasn't sure if you noticed, soi thought I'd point out that the walkway leading to the front door is a film strip; but I also very closely resmbles just a stone path, so it's a bit of a trompe l'oeuil. Thanks so much for your feedback!

I definitely noticed the film strip leading to the house, and that's why I was so very impressed with the logo. We just didn't care for the colors much, in terms of it being all one color etc.

Thanks!

Also, can we try a variation on the placement of the font? We're just so excited about this logo.

Also, sorry.. Last idea.. Can we show the beautiful image inside the circle a bit more?--possibly by increasing it's size, making it stand out more?

Also, on this logo.. We do want it to be able to print in black and white clearly and nicely too, so perhaps we can keep that in mind when playing with the colors? If we make the scene in the middle bigger and more prominent, we'd like to perhaps see it without the circle around it, as it tends to overshadow the text/name.

Thanks!

Hi, here are some new options. Entries #81-#83 show some slight text alternatives, and all show a full color logo with a nice retro palette. I've shown a toned-down circle and the design without the circle. Since there are so many colors, this will have to be printed with 4-color process. I'm not sure that the graphic degrades well to black and white, but it can be printed in one color. #84 shows the full color graphic, and #85 shows the graphic in one color (black). When you have something printed professionally, 4 color process costs a little more. So having a one-color option is cost effective. If you print with one color and use a spot color, as in #85, the cost of printing is much lower. But you can achieve a lot of tints with one spot color, so the image has depth. I can also do a version that uses no gradients.

Let me know what you think of these... of the color scheme, the text options, etc. I'm around for a few hours still tonight, so I can make additional changes! Also, if the contest ends, note that the first ranked designer can still upload changes during the judging period. So if you're sold on my design -- or any design -- but you still need some tweaks, you can get them without extending the contest.

Thanks so much for your consideration and your enthusiasm! I'm glad you posted in the forum last night -- that's how I came across your contest!

Glad to hear my post on the forum worked :-). I am going to have a few others (now they're home for the night) take a look at these right now, if I can get a hold of them... Like the colors, I was worried about them printing strictly black and white with cheap prints, or our laser printer on Invoice prints and simple prints etc. 4 Color printing will take place I believe on our business cards, but then again, I don't understand the printing industry much at all!

Two things I know i'd like to experiment with.. The image within a square instead of a circle.. and the celluloid film path, can it stand out a bit more, maybe with a white. As far as gradients go, I will get some advice on that from my business partner this evening.

Thanks!

Hi, I just uploaded revisions with the graphic in a square shape. Printing is pretty basic. I've got a lot of experience with it, so if you have any questions, let me know. The one color image (which is basically grayscale -- b&w with shades of gray) will print in black and white quite nicely on a typical laser printer or copier. And for times when 4-color printing is too expensive, you can print in one color -- but that one color doesn't have to be black -- it can be any of the colors from the logo.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing what your colleagues think. Thanks!
