Hi! Here is my submission for your consideration. It's a mailbox with the outgoing mail flag represented with foliage. It's drawn in a way that would require 4-color process printing, but that was my first inclination when I came up with the concept. I could easily draw a 2 color version.
I do a lot of print work, and I wanted to let you know that when it comes to printing cost, one or two color printing (with spot colors, not process) is usually cheaper than 4-color, but once you hit 3 spot colors, you're usually not saving much. 4-color process doesn't refer to 4 colors in the design, it refers to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), which are the 4 colors required to do millions of colors (photographic printing). If you decide to go with a design that uses 1, 2, or 3 colors, you should specify to all of the designers to use spot colors only in their designs. These colors come out of a PMS (Pantone Matching System) book, and any designer that uses Adobe Illustrator has a library of these colors built into the software.
I hope you like my concept! I'd love to have your feedback. Thanks!
