Thanks for reviewing my submissions. I went with a handed sketched version of Georgia to give the logo an "old school" feel. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and/or changes is greatly appreciated.
Thank your for the feedback. Because the contest has entered the Top 5 phase, only the top 5 ranked designer can upload. In order for me to be able to submit, I would need at least one of my logos to be ranked within the top 5. Only then will I have a submit button. If you are requesting changes from other designer not in the top 5, you may have to play a bit of musical chairs by re-ranking, after which you can get the revisions and re-rank again. (I hope that makes sense.)
I don't have an submit button to upload. I am currently in the top 6. Only the top 5 can still participate. In order to submit, you would need to place me in the top 5. You can do this temporarily and then rerank afterwards.
Please let me know, so that I can work on the changes and get them uploaded. Thanks!
I submitted a few more versions. Some simpler than others, so I also included a few large version so that you can see the type of illustration (hopefully I did Georgia some justice). Unfortunately the detail gets a bit lost in the low resolution file uploaded through Logotournament. The files for print show up and would also print without any problem. Additionally, these files can be convert to simple B&W line-art too, using the same technique of stippling used before modern technology.
I completely had forgotten to ask, but according to what I was able to gather Mr. Dewberry (go Yellow Jackets) purchase of the Federal Building, thier are plans to eventually open more than one hotel. Is that correct? The reason I ask, is that I assume that the hotel will be called "The Dewberry" with the word Charleston being a city designation. I.E. The Dewberry - Atlanta, The Dewberry - San Francisco... Is this assumption correct? I designed the logos with this in mind, but if the actual name is "The Dewberry Charleston", please let me know and I'll change the logos the give all the word the same weight.
Also, I did a couple of logos in a gold tone. I think is that this would be done in a gold foil stamp (which is not really much more than just printing) and might give the company stationary a very elegant look and feel.
Please do not hesitate to make any suggestions and/or request any revisions.
Thanks for the kind words. I forgot to mention: feel free to mix.-n-match. Georgia from one of my styles in the position of another... also you mention that the font was too feminine, so even the fonts can be exchanged and refined.
Thanks.
Marcelo
BTW - and I say this regardless of the outcome of the contest, but seemed to sappy to mention before. Georgia, is one very good looking dog. We have some friends who have a Golden Retriever and everyone kids, that as far as dogs are concerned she is a physically stunning animal. I feel Georgia may have dethroned her. :)
I noticed that the contest opened up again, giving us a bit more time to fine tune. I just uploaded 12 more entries. I think I made the requested changes correctly. I also, did slight variations with the berry color and tan coloration and some all berry colored. I also varied that size of Georgia. Please let me know if I missed anything or if there are other combo or new fonts you may like to see.
Thanks again for the feedback, it's been very helpful.
Night owl , like the new one a lot. It's ranked #1. How bout trying the actual liver colored georgia head. And perhaps the same liver color for the charleston part?..got it?
I tried a couple of the liver tones with #169 a bit darker than #168. #167 has the very subtle tone in Georgia's face (not completely filling the face, but rather like a watercolor technique.)
