I was trying to reference a dashing dog without showing a particular breed of dog (as a dog owner myself, it's easy to become biased against breeds that aren't your own - lol) I thought it would be more subtle to replace the hat band with a dog collar. I also noticed that the buckles on the collar could easily become D's - and you need two of them, so they work with Dashing Dog. I used a bowler hat, rather than a top hat, because you don't see them very often, so it would stand out and it brought the height of the graphic down, so you notice the collar very easily.
