Hi there. Thanks a lot for putting your first pass together. Our initial reaction is that it's too corporate for us. We're hoping to achieve something a little more creative and edgy. We're not a fan of the abstract emblem/graphic above the font so I would move forward without it.
'Candela' is literally a measurement of light. It's a unit of light that is projected from a candle. We don't really want the candle to play an overpowering role or literal role in the design but perhaps it will allow you to experiment with contrast and shadow in a different way. We are open to ideas that you think might work, however.
I think too if we were to see a few different combinations of font and word arrangement, it might help us narrow which direction we want to go. We do like strong, bold and balanced compositions. Thanks for the effort. We look forward to seeing more attempts.
Also - we are west coast canada so any use of mountains, forest and water incorporated with the 'candela' idea might make for an interesting design in the spirit of what you've tried about the lettering in your first attempt. Thanks again.
okay. We like you're attempt and appreciate the submission but feel that it's just not representing us the way we hope to be represented. We're a group of cinematographers that have opened up a service company and there's not a lot of that spoken in your logo design. That being said, we like the west coast feel in the emblem you've created but think that most of the finer detail will be lost on a business card or in smaller print.
We realize that our feedback isn't great this time but would appreciate any more ideas you might have. Something simple but effective with the 'candela' flame perhaps or the candle flame creating the rays over your mountains perhaps - maybe the entire emblem and font come together more organically and aren't separated as you have them in #6/#7. Feel free to play with color.
Something about the font isn't quite working either. We like the lowercase aspect, however. Also - we have decided to go with 'the candela collective' and are going to lose the 'inc.'. Thanks again. We hope to see some more designs.
