I've changed the font to one with rounded terminals and made the container box more rounded to give a friendlier feel to the design.

Does this work better?

love the color palette and the concept of U. My only concern is that it could be made to be more welcoming or softer? Not sure how to achieve this.

The text in this street sign concept has been formatted to ensure the 'U' aligns perfectly in the middle, both horizontally and vertically, opening up the possibility of taglines such as, 'Focused on U', 'It's all about U', 'Make space for U', etc.
