Hi Carol - Can we play a little more with this one? I like the use of the chai here. And is there some design element that we can use instead of the tagline? As noted in another comment, we are getting some tester comments that they prefer not to use it.
Thank you, Carol. We are receiving feedback from some community testers that the tagline does not resonate with them. Can we remove that? And is there any way to incorporate a chai here? Not sure how that could work. this is really getting close!
I try not to use the same concept from a previous synagogue logo - see my previous win for Temple Beth Torah.
Not sure what you mean by complete but maybe this helps?
Hi Carol,
Shavua tov! This is very interesting, but I'm not sure that the chai as roots quite works. Can you show this to us without that piece, and also perhaps modified to more fully convey the concept? thank you!
We would like to see this with a more muted color scheme that suggests more desert. Along the blues and beige pallet, versus blue and yellow. And maybe a navy blue?
me too... I am sure you have key people in your congregation to put in a vote on the finalists... let me know the feedback. Look forward to working with you. There can be alternative versions for different applications after the basic design is selected.
could make the sun a star of David... but the tree of life IS Jewish! I am working on a logo for a synagogue back east that wants to use Jacob's Ladder - has its own complexities. I could put in a torah if you want or any other symbol. think about it over Shabbat... Carol
This one does a nice job of incorporating the desert. It still doesn't convey Jewish, though. don't quite know what to do about that.
and Shabbat Shalom to you, too.
I think the cactus looks awkward with the tree. Is there any way to do some kind of silhouette of phoenix in the background - maybe a yellow outline of mountains with a sahuaro?
will work on that part too. would love to work with you on all your design and promotional materials as that is my main business (unless you have a congregant in that business) I do all that work for my synagogue.
I love the subtle nod to Chai/18. Can we play with some different fonts for Temple Chai, something a little cleaner, less busy? A little more playful, perhaps? Also, I
I'd like to see a connection to the desert, given our location. Is there a way to incorporate that (e.g. color scheme, background, etc.)? Also, what might the logo look like without the tagline?
I think you really hit on a lot of the points we mentioned in the brief. But one thing we'd like you think about - a connection to the desert, given our location. Is there a way to incorporate that (e.g. color scheme, background, etc.)?
I like this one too, but I think it is a little busy with the Jewish star. Could we remove the tagline, remove the chai.
Also, what if we just kept the flames and moved them a little closer to the logo and maybe made a really small Jewish star above the i in Chai or towards the upper corner of the logo?
I'm not sure how that would look, but I think there is just too much with all 3 elements combined.
I love the thought behind the 18 and chai - that makes a great story to accompany it. Can you remove the tagline below it. And, maybe when you remove it, we can make the font a little bigger? Or just re-center it.
We will use this in multiple channels (online, print, maybe t-shirts, etc) - will this look ok if it is on a t-shirt?
