So far this is the closest thing we've seen to what we had in mind. I like the background on #57. However, the logo seems to have a stroke around the blocks in TEAL that causes it to look too different from the original. If there's some way you could combine #57 and #52, that would be much better. We like that the TEAL letters in #52 are transparent and you can see through them. And we like the slant on #57. These are going to be printed on t-shirts using an "all over" print. So we're not limited to a center box. That being the case, if you could add some additional background "noise" behind the whole thing, maybe in another color, that would be excellent. Feel free to make the logo smaller to incporate more background. The idea is this design will be printed kind of off-set on a t-shirt taking up most of the upper right or left front shoulder area. So the logo can be smaller here as it will be blown up on the shirt and the background will wrap around and extend out.
The logo kind of disappears in #69. It still needs to be visible and recognizable. I think the original background from #57 is good. For additional background I would do something behind everything that's more of a base, maybe something more solid but still with that grunge feel. I wouldn't worry about using the color teal. Browns, blacks, white... those would be fine for the design you have going.
#72 is looking good. Any way to eliminate that stroke around the TEAL blocks? It really changes the way the logo looks. For consistency the logo portion itself needs to keep the same geometry.
That's definitely better on the logo. The only thing we're having a hard time with right now is that the background looks more like paint splatter. For this "grunge" look we're going for, we feel that it needs to be more about noise and randomness than recognizable splatter like that. Take look at some of the other logos we've ranked for an idea of what I'm talking about. Do you think you could make some tweaks along those lines?
We're leaning towards a more simplified look. We're having trouble coming up with something that will work with the all-over printed shirts as we originally planned. I see you've already submitted some less complex ideas. I'm not sure about that texture on the background. It's a little too uniform.
Yes, we're going for more of a treatment to the logo at this point since you're the only one that even submitted something close to what we were looking for. But it seems like LogoTournament may not be the best resource to get something like that.
And we're thinking for the slant on the logo is like if someone was in a hurry and tried to make it straight but didn't quite get it... so a very slight slant.
