Comment Activity davidwhitmer commented on #227 Withdrawn Hi: Can you please provide a version of this logo with a black background. Thanks 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #61 Withdrawn This is our other favorite design. It's awesome. We love the simplicity and boldness. On this one, the only thing we're not sure about is the P. We like the uniqueness it creates but its a little too quirky or playful. Maybe end the P in some other way. Maybe just shorten the extra part a bit. Or maybe change the shape on the end and shorten it. Or maybe even try some other bold fonts that create similar impact. It's a tiny detail and would love to see any updates you can come up with. Thanks. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #148 Withdrawn This is one of our favorites designs that you created. Overall, it's awesome. We love how bold and memorable it is. With this one, the only thing we're not sure is necessary is the crown. We get the royalty thing and how that up-scales the design but we would like to see this without the crown. Naturally make any other changes you feel are needed if you remove the crown. In summary, this is one of our favorite designs and would like to see you evolve this one just a tiny bit. Thanks. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #31 Withdrawn Hi: Congratulations you're a finalist. Love your work. The two designs you created that we like most are #61 and #148. I will make separate comments on each of those other designs. Please develop going forward knowing those two designs are our favorites. You're a very talented designer and we really appreciate your creativity. Thanks, David 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #148 Withdrawn I really like the font here but I would put it in your design #31 from this contest. 5 years ago subzero commented on #114 Withdrawn Even longer. 5 years ago subzero commented on #113 Withdrawn Lengthened the lower part of S a bit. Let me know. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #62 Withdrawn Overall I love the logo. It's got presence and is memorable. I'm not suggesting any major changes (just a tiny tweak that kind of seems a bit silly to even mention). You choose fonts that demand attention and I appreciate that. I like the current font and even like the interest that loop detail on the S and C creates but I just can't get past the small looking lower part of the S. I realize this is such a tiny detail but to me it still reduces the impact compared to the strength of the whole logo. The closed loop makes the bottom of S appear smaller than the top. I would suggest maybe tweak the current font by widening the lower section slightly or open the lower loop a tiny bit or lengthen the lower section a tiny bit or something to give that lower part of the S a little more support or scale. If you change the S maybe you should change the corresponding part of the C to match. To illustrate my point check out your other logo #31 currently ranked 3rd. See how the larger lower part of the S in that logo creates impact and support. I'm not suggesting that big of a change here (meaning don't need it to look bigger on the bottom-just proportional with the top). In summary maybe try some small tweaks to the current font or Maybe even try some similar fonts to see if they match the power of the whole better. Thanks. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #92 Withdrawn I still like #62 that I'm currently ranking in 1st better. This is interesting but feels a bit unnecessary. I will make a comment on #62 on the font change I would suggest to that logo. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #91 Withdrawn I like #62 that I'm currently ranking in 1st better. This is interesting but feels a bit unnecessary. I will make a comment on #62 on the font change I would suggest to that logo. 5 years ago subzero commented on #91 Withdrawn Updated. 5 years ago subzero commented on #62 Withdrawn Working on it. Thanks for the feedback. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #61 Withdrawn Hi: I hope I am not bugging you. You are producing my favorite designs so far and just trying to give you as much input as possible to get to a winning design we will use. Maybe check out the font called REGIUS. Not that I am suggesting that you use this font (it’s probably too angular) but just to use as inspiration. I love how bold your designs are and appreciate your design style. Just want to see one concept that moves towards a more professional and luxury feel but still maintains the power of your design concepts. Keep up the great work. You’re awesome. Thanks. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #62 Withdrawn Your designs really stand out and that’s what I love about them. I don’t know if this can be improved because I think it’s excellent. You are a master with these unique fonts and I like this font. I like the uniqueness of how the S and C finish with the wrap around curl but I wonder if you have experimented with a font variation that finishes a little stronger. I know that is a tiny detail and the overall design is very strong but I am just wondering what a stronger finish particularly on the bottom of the S might do to boost the font to match the strength of the whole logo. Maybe it’s the tiny detail at the bottom of the S but somehow it just feels a little squiggly. We need the logo to communicate to customers that they have come to the right place to hire a master chef for their important social gathering. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #61 Withdrawn Hi: You are a master with these bold unique designs. I would like to see what this design or similar design looks like with a more royal or regal feel. I still want the boldness and impact of the design and fonts you have been using. Just want to see how it looks if it gets a little more luxury but with impact. I recall one of your first designs had the chefs hat with a crown and I got how that might work for customers that want to be treated to a royal feast by a Super Chef but the crown just felt a bit too literal and direct. You are doing great work and I really appreciate it. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #16 Withdrawn Like the concept but not sure how well the person fits into the scheme. Also I really like the direction with your other designs better. 5 years ago subzero commented on #31 Withdrawn On it. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #31 Withdrawn I would suggest experimenting with the font to be a little bit less western movie poster. I love the boldness of the font but think it to be a little more refined or simple or something. Thanks 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #1 Withdrawn Here’s more specific feedback on this logo. What I love: 1. Eyecatching and memorable. 2. Unique font. 3. How its one cohesive logo. Where I would like to see some variation or evolution of this logo: 1. Because our target customers are kind of sophisticated and snooty maybe try some evolution that might appeal to a more mature, sophisticated customer. 2. If you think of it in terms of a spectrum where you have a more youthful and cartoon like design on one end of the spectrum and something more mature and refined on the other end, maybe try one new evolution that takes just one step in the more mature and refined direction. Personally I love your design concepts but our customer is a mature, affluent, high society type customer and they seem to be drawn to brands that are more luxury and classy than young and playful. Thanks 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #31 Withdrawn This is awesome and one of my favorites. I love how unique and memorable it is. Only thing I am not sure about is how our audience will perceive it and wether they would be naturally drawn to this type of brand. We target customers that would probably want to think of themselves as sophisticated gourmet food connoisseurs. Also, the chefs we target sometimes seem to be a bit “snooty” about how they are a culinary genius. Do you have any creative ideas about how to make a small evolution so this logo speaks directly to a high end clientele type audience. Don’t make it boring or lose the design concept because it’s great but see if you have any ideas to tweak it slightly to feel a bit more professional or artistic or something that might appeal to an upscale and more mature, sophisticated customer. Thanks. 5 years ago subzero commented on #1 Withdrawn On it. 5 years ago subzero commented on #5 Withdrawn Working on it. Thank you for the feedback. 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #1 Withdrawn Hi: I just commented on one of your other designs. I really like your work. I like this one for many of the same reasons as your other creation, because it’s eye catching and memorable. I am not sure specifically how to suggest changes to this one but just wanted to let you know that I think you are on to something with this type of logo and would like to see if you have any other ideas that follow on this theme and take into consideration my prior comments on your other logo. Thanks 5 years ago davidwhitmer commented on #5 Withdrawn Hi: I really like this logo and it’s one of my favorites so far. What I like about it how it seems memorable and eye catching. What I am not sure about is the crown. I get the idea how the crown portrays the chefs are super but wonder if there’s some other way to express that. Also it’s a high end chef service so it needs to be somewhat refined and professional. Our target clients are sophisticated foodie type people so it needs to appeal to that type of customer. I wouldn’t want you to change it much because it really is excellent but maybe you could try building on this to see if there’s some evolution that gets even better. 5 years ago
