Hello there,

Sacramento in the house! :D

(Well... Fair Oaks actually - lol) I saw this contest with only very little time and thought, I'd like to do my part to support the community. I did not have much time to enter, but if I get into the Top 5 phase, I'll refine any revision you might like to see. I was going to do both the Tower Bridge and the Capitol Building (I have plenty of photos of my own to reference, so any image I use will be 100% copyright transferable to you. Because I have done a bit of community work programs i.e youth services, community street fairs, gang prevention brochures... over the years, I thought I would be important to include some family and event type imagery. I wanted to focus the look to be that of community awareness rather than just looking like a city emblem. Your thoughts and feedback would be most welcome. Please visit my profile by clicking on my avatar and there you can see other styles in my work. Maybe a style or look that you would like me to try. :)

Thanks!

Good morning!
Nice to see a "local boy" in the mix. You're correct, this is a violence/gang reduction program which will be piloted out of South Sac. I need a logo that conveys the idea of family involvement as well as youth sports and community health. I think where you are going with the sport figures is good. I'm not sure it's working well with the Capitol and I'm having a hard time seeing how I would easily translate your design to a tshirt. It feels too busy and too color blown for that. Does that make sense? I'd love to see what else you have.
Thanks, Jenna

Thanks Jenna.

I literally only had minutes to get in the designs, I just needed to get to the Top 5 in order to start working on the logo with a bit more time. I understand that the Capitol is too detailed for right now and that will be modified. I did want to ask you about T-shirt printing since we do that also. Do you know how you plan to print? I'm seeing many gradient being used which will be costly to screen print, but can be done using die-sublimation. Do you prefer something more budget conscious like SNL LA version than can be limited to screen printing? Any thoughts about the logo or suggestions are always welcome.

BTW - Please check out my bio. I guarantee that whatever I design will not be a problem in any print media... I am also a printer. :)

Thanks

Hello Jenna,

This is a tough week to have a contest in. :) Happy Thanksgiving!

I put together a few more ideas, but I was not sure which direction you needed to go in I wanted to focus more on the community, rather than appearing to be a one-time event (ala Hot August Nights in Reno). So I'm a bit torn between making something more reminiscent of a community youth program to attract young people or to go corporate like say, The United Way. Because of my background with social and community based programs, I understand that the reality is that it's the monies that help fund these programs. Please feel free to ask for a more corporate type look, or color change, font change... your feedback is most helpful.

Thanks!
