I'd been so focussed on the graphic, I didn't notice there were kerning issues.

I've made the tickets squarer and added two bars codes and a perforation.

I have to be careful not to turn this into a variation of any another designer's work. Having a microphone in the hand, for example, would probably make my submission too close to jesicastudio's.

Also, it might rob my design of its core meaning, which is a desperate, visceral struggle for survival.

I wonder whether I could maybe have the hand reaching up to something, just out of reach (a ticket stub, as you suggested, for example). This might add another dimension to the desperation.

I'll give this some more thought and get something worked up for submission during the course of tomorrow.

There is nothing fundamentally different about this version; it just has some more shading to give the hand more form.
