Steel ShieldLogo Design Contest

I would like to see something that looks more like the steel material used. I put a picture of the shield to show the gradient and shadow effects I like.

I dont think the shield is absolutely necessary.

On entry #1. Can you remove the bordering of the shield and just show it as the mesh in the shape of a shield.

What I meant was to Invert the color for the shield. So have the diamond crossings be the color.

only keep the inner effects. maybe add more diamond shapes to give the shield its overall shape. And take out the border so the diamond shapes are just ending suddenly without a border.
