thanks for appreciating when designing a brand I try to incorporate as much meaning as possible without crunching too many graphic elements together and without being too literal - it helps the viewer understand your company in a way that makes the logo easy to remember...
Honestly I dont like the look of the letter 'a' and the font is a bit too italic (sometimes one needs some time to be able to self-criticise) but as I already mentioned I will be glad to customize and refine the design untill you are happy with it... I am ok with up to 20 revisions (whereby in most cases 4-5 are enough)
I was thinking if adding a goal post on the left is a good idea but it will make the whole less universal in terms of sport...
P.s Just in case you are not aware of that : 1- the 1st ranked designer can still upload entries(no new concepts) while the contest is in judging mode...that means you can swich rankings and ask for revisions of your favorite designs....I 2- it is also common practice that the designer agrees to provide additional variations after having won the contest (as included in the LogoTournament Contract)
