Can you make a few changes. I want to select a winner tonight and this design seems to get good feedback but needs a few tweaks.
Can you remove the restaurant and bar wording
Take out "and" and use Ampersand &
Give the bars a little bit of a wave, just a bit though, so they don't lose their "bar"ness Try version with multiple (3) small stars Try different versions of the ampersand (&) Fine tune the lettering so STARS and BARS are nicely balanced
Hi, I'll have the changes ready ASAP, I am not allowed to contact CHs outside of LT during the contest, though, so my comments will be here. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but any designer who violates the rules risks having their account terminated.
Changes made: Less distress on stripes Made stripes narrower Made star smaller Centered the star Removed "and" and replaced with "&" Centered "STARS & BARS" type (crunched STARS a bit) Removed redundant stars that were on either side of "RESTAURANT & BAR" Removed underline from "RESTAURANT & BAR"
Two things I'd have the artist try/tweak if pursued:
Try different versions of the ampersand (&) Fine tune the lettering so STARS and BARS are nicely balanced
#160 and #161 are the changes. I think I got everything. If I missed anything please do let me know, or if you require any further changes, I'll be happy to accommodate you :)
I saw it. I removed the distress from the lettering so it is clearer to read, the bars are more solid, less distress, only a distressed outline, I've solidified the star, its still distressed too, but all points are visible, the lettering has been more centered, so it achieves more balance, the ampersand is like the one in the dropbox image. #162 and #163 have the smaller ampersand, too :)
I can see the instructions in the PDF, I'll get to work immediately. It may take me an hour or so, as I will need to find the right ampersands to use. I'll have variations of the ampersands along with all of the other changes as listed :)
#164 - #170 has stars/bars words thickened slightly, drop shadow fixed, red bars adjusted to flow from the star, and the ends frayed, although not as extreme as the first version, the blue star is back to the original, slightly less thick, i wasnt sure if the blue star wanted was the new one or the original one. If its the newer one i can thin that one out also. Also several ampersands :)
I want to thank you for your time and work. It was very close. If it makes any difference the lead designer at Vans, a $1 Billion public company picked your design from the beginning as the winner along with the Chairman of the board of another large national restaurant chain.
