I was thinking about staffing firms - finding the right fit, filling positions, etc. It made me think of the game Connect 4...where you drop the chips in to fill spots and make a chain of 4 to win. So I based my submission on that. The white spots make an abstract "S" shape. The line below STARK would be customizable with the different sub categories. For the main logo - I used GROUP - but that could be removed to where it's just the icon next to STARK. As a sample - I applied Illustration to the version with the burgundy color. Any comments/suggestions you have are always welcome! Thanks!

1. We are pleased with the logo type for the words Stark and the subheads.
2. We like the “S” graphic formed in the boxes.
3. We like the color choices.
4. We would like to see versions without the background rectangle where the words stand on their own and not reversed out. These logos will look great on a website. However, they will be hard to reproduce in a building sign with one color and they will be difficult to reproduce on an embroidered shirt. The reflective effect will be lost.
5. We don’t like the blurring of the colors and the unclean lines—two blended, i.e., it is nearly impossible to see where the blue and burgundy boxes start and stop. I think stark contrast is better.

Firstly - I wanted to thank you for your detailed feedback - probably the most helpful feedback I've received on Logo Tournament.

That said, I wanted to try one more time with the box - I dropped the effect, so it can be easily embroidered or turned to a single color image. I just can't get the phrase "stark white" out of my head, so I am trying got make the type work in white. I do have two other submissions without the box.

I put the logos together as an example - all are the same logo - just with the different sub headings. I didn't know if that idea came across with my last submission. I always find color coding to be very helpful when dealing with departmental logos. It's an easy way to subdivide without losing the unity of the brand.

Same as previous except the colors have been swapped in the icon. Thanks for your consideration

We really appreciate your work on the blocks. We are now leaning away from the blocks because they look too "clunky". You may want to abandon this effort, but one of us is considering the possibility that it can still be modified to everyone's liking. What if the blocks were spread out, smaller, and more numerous? Also, what if these smaller blocks more clearly formed an "S" with less abstraction?
