I think this design has all the basic elements: house, double S (which also looks like dollar signs)... but, are we getting too busy with the little circle on top. Let's try making the font a little larger as well.
A thought about the black background...I like it. Could we make to 2 top corners red or white with triangle edges so that the background takes the shape of the house (with a little chimney) and then have the door, windows and double S inside the house.
Does this make any sense?

Not exactly. Imagine your entire logo as a business card..The top two corners of the business card go 3/4 of the way up on both sides to create a triangle and color the outside of the triangle red.
