I understand that you said no soup bowl. I have this idea to blend the "hot" soup using the letter S as smoke and the bowl appear in a subtle way as part of the S.

Present here my proposed logo design for you to consider. I'm using a 'wheat' to replace the stem of letter 't' on the word St.
It's quite universally understood that wheat represent food :)
