Thanks, Fracco! In general, I think this is a great start and I like the direction you've headed--I do love the Nintendo Mario squid I've been using temporarily, and this definitely captures the same feel. Thoughts:

#9: I like the shadow underneath him--great touch that really enlivens it. I really like the thought bubble for the name, but I'm concerned about how practical it will be to implement that throughout the site--also, it makes me think of a pensive, introspective squid rather than a gregarious, lively squid.

Both: Can you try a font that looks a little more "cute" and less sci-fi? Maybe it's the rounded edges that I'm missing. Also, can you try a different pair of eyes? I'm not opposed to the ones you're using now, but I'm not loving them either--I'm not sure what it is specifically--sorry I can't give better feedback at this point. Hopefully after seeing some more eyes I'll be able to better triangulate.

Thanks in advance for whatever you're able to do--

Francisco--thanks for the quick revisions! Here are my thoughts:

EYES: #13/14 don't quite work for me--not sure what it is specifically. He almost looks a bit nervous or cross-eyed to me? #11/12 look a bit sinister. Maybe take another crack at the eyes?

BUBBLES: I'm torn on this as I like them as a visual element, but overall I feel like they might be distracting once I start adding the facial hair and hats. Probably best to leave them out.

SHADOW UNDER SQUID: I love this!

"HAIR": the section around the squid's head ends up looking a bit like hair--I don't think it would be a problem if I wasn't going to be adding hats and such. Can you try making the top part of the squid one complete piece (rather than a body with the "hair" outlined around it? Let me know if this comment's unclear; I realize I'm not being particularly clear.

I like the fonts for #11-13 the most.

Hello, here are some changes, change the eyes and the look of my squid, also I submit one variation with helmet and mustache so you can see it works with the hair :)

Please tell me if you want to see any change.

Fracco-

thanks again for some good contributions!

here are some suggestions to get closer to what we are seeking:

- body more white, less gray

- remove eye wrinkles to make the squid look more cheerful

- remove hair (one piece-squid)

- add orange to type to call attention to it

- remove bubbles

- remove birthmarks/bubbles on head
