I fear that the electronics industry is changing so fast that if an icon of a computer or a mouse is used for your logo it may be out of date very soon. And you may decide to export in different categories as well. Also if you expand into other countries a map image might also limit your business direction and growth. Trying to get the familiar look from the Latin countries without too much limits to your future business directions.
I love this logo so much I can barely believe it exists. My concern is that it doesn't go with the computer/technology theme. Wife and I are talking about it. I agree with your reasoning, so is there any way you can somehow focus it? If we were exporting rattan or curios, it would be perfect, but I'm not sure it captures technology. Thanks.
It is late and this might be way off - was trying to think of something that links all electronics and the circuit board may be the link (suggestions welcome) so keeping to the minimal colors I tried to do the name like a circuit board. Feedback if this might be the right track is appreciated.
Thank you. I agree and will work on the idea more. I do like the idea of the birds or some other icon to represent the SA world. But not sure how to represent "electronics" as a category without going to a much more complex design. When you use the 3D look with gradients and special effects it is very nice but limits the applications for use so you need to have a basic solid color version of any logo - I try to show what that looks like first.
Note: I have invited another designer to collaborate on this design to see if we can connect the idea of SA symbols of the birds into a more "tech" oriented overall design for you. I hope this works to your liking.
