I definitely like the vintage look of this design, probably the best yet regarding the vintage look. My wishes with this design would be that because of the signage I will be doing, I would like to see more of a round emblem design. I like the black, but would also like to see a variation with a vintage dark dark brown with antique creme color. I really think you are on to it though. In another version maybe something besides the ribbon, as I feel that it gives the logo too much of a harley davidson kinda look.
Looking at a lot of what you have done, I see a lot of great designs. The cup and everything looks good, the winning design might also have the cup resemble the spring (the features around the top of the spring could be something similar around the cup). Definitely the more antique and 19th century the better.
Oh my gosh!! So SORRY - I just realized I'd used that ribbon before! I have a bunch of ribbons I've drawn and must not have pulled that one from my "available" list. I'm working on a new element as soon as I finish this message!!
Here's a ribbon that better fits the style of this one. My next entries will be based on your feedback. I'd also like to try a more Victorian font face. I did make this one brown, though.
Again - sorry for any inconvenience. Very amateur mistake. :( josh
here's the cup by itself. Because it does have the SP in the steam, I thought it could work for smaller merchandise. I could easily get it to one color (there's only a little bit of medium brown in the fountain) so it could be screened onto coffee/espresso, stickers, etc.
I very much like what you have done pretty much with every one. The cup is exactly what I had in mind, looks good. The change with the ribbon made a noticeable improvement as well. I didn't mean for you to remove the one that was black, as I was still interested in that color just wanted to see other color combos. I do like the colors used on #13, #14, and #15, but would like to see variations of them in different colors. Maybe, a variation of each with the creme the same but the brown darker. Also, variations of each with dark grey or black like the one you removed.
I did notice, the SP in the steam, nice work. I also, do like the cup #16 for applications like mugs and etc.
So far I like what you have done the most. I think what you have done so far would be serviceable. However, keeping what you have done as my favorite at this point, I would like to see if you could throw a couple other things together that would be victorian and maybe more ornate if you could.
Thank you for the great work. Your work is the closest to what I was looking for so far.
Hi :) Here's another idea I had. Going for a victorian-era ad/street sign feel. I can tweak any colors/contrasts you want. At the bottom is a reference to the spring - the frame is made from stylized "splashes". I have this "pieced out" so it can also (very easily) become a single color lineart logo for smaller/economical printing.
Effects are also very easy to add at any point (distressing/aging). If there's anything you'd like to see, just let me know.
I had a lot of fun working on this version - I hope you love it as much as I do! thanks josh
I appreciate the effort, and I see what you were going for. I think it does look a little whimsical or animated. It looks great, but the more I look at it the more I appreciate it.
bummer - I thought all those art history classes were going to finally pay off!
Sometimes I spend a ton of time on work I think is the "game-ender", get ranked low and KNOW the client didn't get it - that's super disappointing. But knowing that you get the idea is at least a little bit comforting - haha :) thanks for the feedback, btw
I'm tweaking the previous to make it market a little better. I'm toning the yellow down too.
I Like the entry #52 probably the best of yours and it may still be the one I choose. If you have time to try a tweaked version of it with some style changes that look more like what I shown that I am interested in. I like the ones you've submitted so don't withdraw any.
