let the contest run it's course and select a wining designer in the 3rd phase (selection) Benefits logo can be fin tuned as required. Designers and Contest Holders still communicate view messages the edit designs with the help of the markup tool.
Option 2:
End the contest early Benefit is designers can have direct contact with contest Holders out side of Logo Tournament. Which in my opinion is better to actually speak with someone to discuss logo changes rather than relying on messages.
As for additional designs I cannot discuss this matter while the contest is still active, this is LT policy. Once a contest over and a winner selected designers can discuss additional designs etc.
I like where you are going with this. you are the one that is heading the proper direction with all of this. Alterations: Solid red field; SPC sides of the letters parallels shield sides but still arches; SPECIAL PURPOSE CONTRACTORS font color to gray; no gradients.

lets lose the wht/silver border all together. border only black. And can we bring the sides to be straight up and down, not canting out? SPC should be singular letters, not connected, black with gray border. paw image the same grey.
The badge/shield shape I really like. Now that I see the silver/metal, I think the white looks better lol. I wish I could show you texts. The first text you had is close to what I want, but there's another one where (for example) the letter "c" is more square than round... However the overall shape and thickness is the same.
no, very clever! I love it! I'd like to see a few different fonts for the letters, and more of a coat of arms shield shape. Like the 90's Porsche emblem, with a slightly more pointed bottom. Also maybe sliver/grey instead of the white? I'm curious to see how that would look. How will this translate to an embroidered patch? The face in the paw print is on point!
I like what you're doing. The paw print is great. can you change the shield to have rounded edges that come to one point and inverse the two top borders to come to a higher point as well? and make the letters less block like with black font?.

My submission for your consideration. I ahve taken into consideration the requirements from Print, web to embroidery.
I chose not to use gradients and use solid colors to give a cleaner representation of depth.
