Hi Candace
Just some important notes for your client to consider....
While designing your logo I am considering all of the following.
You know the name is the most important part of the logo, so it is important to recognize any elements that interfere with its visibility
I kept the design simple so that additional details don't interfere with the impact of your name and with colors, lines, font and layout especially with the 'perfect' circle to draw the viewer's eye into your name.
If too much going on in the design your name will be lost.
There is a split second that tells the viewer who you are...and visually capture your name for long term memory.
Red or red hues are considered 'impact colors'...they will not be missed and in most cases cannot be overlooked because this color draws and hold attention the longest. Especially when used with hues of complimentary or companion colors. The dark background you initially didn't like doesn't necessarily interfere with the design but holds it together..it could be the color of fabric or a full bleed print on a card or signage or color background on your website....the darkest jewel tones will make the other colors jump out at the viewer. Any additional consultation regarding all applications I will be happy to help you.
Considering all your applications including the stitching/embroidering the 'impact' should be a strong factor.
Your logo or branding is who you 'are' first and what you 'project' for your business. Then finally the market group and the feel and personality of the business...who are you wanting to 'draw in'.
Much of design is subjective, much of what the client sees is a personal connection, the public isn't critiquing the design...they are relating to who you are and what you are offering them.
If there is anything in my designs that I did for you that you would like to interchange in the elements of color, layout, fonts etc. I can easily do that for you, just let me know.
Thank you!
Teresa
