As our requested logo combination, we like the general direction you are taking. Ultimately, for SpaceTEC, we will need to use the original art, which is now attached in jpg. Your subtitle addition works well.
With regard to the CertTEC logo, which will be the key, we felt that it was to similar to the SpaceTEC logo. We need to keep the original CertTEC type style. The use of a reverse is fine. Rather than use an oval, which is what we requested, it would be nice to play as well with any other complementary background styles and colors.
For more clarity, please also see our revised "Instructions to Artists" attachment. It now includes elements as follows:
1. Retain the current SpaceTEC logo, but add subtitle as shown above. In this subtitle, and in all other lines, use bold, sans serif type.
2. For CertTEC, retain its current type style, but create a frame (any shape) that is complementary to the SpaceTEC design. To distinguish it from the SpaceTEC design, use a different background color. "CertTEC" name should be the same size as the "SpaceTEC" name.
3. Subtitle, as shown above, should be added below the CertTEC logo.
4. Bring SpaceTEC and CertTEC logos together effectively in a single presentation. Include the connecting phrase - "In Conjunction with its Internationally-Accredited Certification Division".

Thanks for your information and advice Uta. The SpaceTEC logo will be used in its original form. We need to concentrate on the CertTEC logo. Please work on the CertTEC logo alone with the knowledge that it must be complementary to the SpaceTEC logo and fit, ultimately, below the SpaceTEC logo. Your assistance is appreciated. Thanks, Skip

Thanks Uta. Regarding font type, the company wants to keep its established font in red. We can consider logos with CertTEC lettering in a light reverse tone with a red background like your Entry #44. Thanks, Skip

Thanks for #59 Uta. The subtitle is more readable. As another possible improvement, please modify #59 in the following ways: (1) Make inner logo silver instead of red and (2) Change reverse lettering to red lettering. This could be very appealing. Thanks Uta. With #73, would you mind (1) using black bold type for the subtitle to make it more readable and (2) use the CertTEC lettering that you used in #39 and elsewhere. With your Entry #39, can you provide a version that simply adds thin Mercator lines of a globe (latitude and longitude) in the white oval space? If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks for letting me know Uta. I am using a phone to respond, and will not be able to get back to a computer until later tonight or tomorrow morning. I am traveling. I will locate and resend it if necessary. One way or another we can resolve the problem. No artist came up with the idea. It was my idea of a potential enhancement for all with open space. Skip

Your #118 looks great Uta. As another important simple touch, please see what you can do to add a little interest in the space immediately above the lower case "ert". This could be simple red lines or red shading to the left of the "T" and on the same level to help to give "TEC" a sense of motion to the right. If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks again for being so productive and responsive Uta. We now are in the judging phase. You have submitted many entries, and have had your work in the top ranking from the beginning. In the next few days, a panel at CertTEC will make a final determination. It is my role, in the meantime, to pass on any comments or suggestions. I will let you know as soon as I receive any.
For now, I have one request. In Mercator lines in Entry #123, you seem to be using a screen. Can you envision using light lines without a screen to make the globe more apparent? The subtitle in your #133 is more readable than #132. This is a nice improvement. The subtitle in #133 seems to be slightly more condensed than #134. Is that the difference? In #134, the right end of "CertTEC" is pushing a bit beyond the globe. That would just require a minor adjustment. Between #131, #132, #133, and #134, the best effect is #133. At this point, it looks like I will not get any more comments from SpaceTEC-CertTEC until Monday. Since you are 15 hours ahead of me, it will be later before I reach you.
I would like you to know that may have to switch to artist Scott briefly to cover a request. If I do, I will try to get back with you as quickly as I can. I appreciate your work, and will continue give you any guidance that might be helpful. Because of our time differences, and because we must wait through the weekend, I would like to share all I know about SpaceTEC - CertTEC's final objectives and get your concurrence. Their interests are as follows:
1. Once it makes a selection, SpaceTEC-CertTEC will require that we place an "r" in a circle at the end of the CertTEC name. The CertTEC name is registered in the US. Ivan let me know that this will be fine at the end of the contest. Are you fine with this timing and arrangement? I can coordinate further with Ivan if necessary.
2. From the beginning, the goal was to have the SpaceTEC logo (with subtitle included) placed above a new CertTEC logo. Regarding the SpaceTEC logo, the subtitle you added in Entry #3 looks good to me. If we proceed, I would like to send you better camera-ready artwork for the SpaceTEC logo for duplication of the same.
3. In space between the two logos, a phrase as simple as "With ICAC Accredited Certifications Division" needs to be added. For visual effect, it can be split on two lines. For background on a large square or rectangle, which would contain both logos and this phrase between then, grey screen is desired.
When helping five other companies with Logo Tournament, I was able to communicate with winners directly by email. This was done with Logo Tournament's support. Can I assume that we can communicate that way as well?
Please let me know your thoughts on all the above. I work on weekends and during days and nights, and can answer any questions. You have been great from the start. I will hope that the group will declare you the winner within two to three days. In my opinion, for a variety of reasons, you deserve to get first place. We will hope for the best.
