Hi,

My first submissions for your logo, modern and colorful approach with the three aspects of you slogan represented in an abstract way. The Compelling Stories/Effective Practices/Thriving Churches interwoven together, each feeding off each other with the exchange of ideas.
Can I ask - is 'Sodalis' from the Latin word meaning; companions/friends..?
Happy to make changes and welcome your feedback.

Thanks,
Catherine

Catalyst,

Thanks for jumping in early! Yes, the companion/friend idea is central to our concept. in fact we began with the word "sodality." Because it is an unusual word, we moved away because it sounds more like an adjective than a noun. This logo will help us launch a new conference/network of pastors from across the state. We believe that the conference will lead to self-organizing groups of youth pastors, children pastors, arts directors, etc. who share ideas, best practices, and encouragement.

We like entry #3 because it is light and yet masculine enough to appeal across gender. We hope this is an event where creativity is celebrated and you have surfaced that nicely. I know that Sodalis is a heavy sounding word and your whimsical effort helps offset that as well. It may be too much, but we are interested in seeing the bylines incorporated. Thanks!!!

Thanks for you comments and feedback. I've just uploaded a couple of versions with the byline incorporated. I really like the name 'Sodalis', especially after I looked up the Latin meaning, I think it fits perfectly for what you're trying to achieve. I've been thinking some more on the logo and wondered whether a vine bearing fruit in a abstract sort of way would work? I'm guessing you want to stay away from an image of the cross? #3 (somewhat unintentionally!) works really well with your theme/event after hearing some more about it!

Thanks,
Catherine

Catherine,

I'd like to take a look at a version that includes the by-lines and is more horizontal in layout... if you get a chance.
