Greetings, i thought i would try something different, the concept is to create a wordmark, that emphasizes what socialstudy is trying to do, thus adding a hip tagline based on your demographic, "socialstudy" then becomes questions answered, using guide in small letter , the tagline coincides and compliments how the word "guide" is placed, bringing into effect a one visual concept reflecting the brand itself and a catchy tag line. Your feedback is welcomed.
That's a decisive question. In other words, i think if you were looking for the web 2.0 look, i would say no because, the idea is to "brand" the name first, and brand the icon second.
However, if you were to add an icon, it's the symbol itself, that in long terms should convey the name and the brand, for example, the nike swoosh, no longer needs the "nike" type of "thinking"
My point is that it's the name that you want to "brand" not the symbol. Perhaps as a suggestion, you may want to go in a new direction and see some designs submitted to creating the entire name as a wordmark,
I hope i've been some help, i will continue to work and come up with ideas in the coming days. regards Spiro
Some revisions i made was to bring down the tagline to give it some space between the wordmark, also using gradient colors for the word "social" and keeping study and guide constant color, i think the goal here is to brighten up the word social, give it life and keep study and guide constant color.
The concept of this tagline is to give it an open/broad appeal, such as "fill in the blank" type of idea where it cover's the variety that Social Study brand service offering provides.
I'm trying to capture the essence of Social Study, thus using something like The "Fill me in" social event tagline works well because as we all know, we need the details of what, who, where, when.
When i think of a personal social guide, it gives me the option to pick what i want, and knowing that i can find out who's doing what, where, when and what kind of specials. All in all, it's a personal social guide, i think using this type of concept keeps the Brand logo clean and yet gives the tagline imagination, thus covering what we want to portray with the logo itself.
