Thanks for the entry! I think if possible it would be nice to remove the weathering from the letter portion of the logo. maybe try that. I think the "n" in sno is a little distracting, and the "c" looks too much like a letter "e".
Would there be a way to separate the two words, and play with the background in between. maybe add a wave, or food truck outline somehow?
Kent, the wave in #11 is just a little too "computerized" for us. We like the cartoon/sketch drawing looking waves. Check out some graphics that jack johnson or jason mraz use on their stuff. Or like the wave in the examples I posted...
in #10 and #4 can we see it with the snocal in white as well? Like those letters a LOT more! well done
like the truck outline in #4, but it seems like just a small afterthought in the graphic. Any way you can make it bigger to incorporate it more? maybe use that as the outline and fill the words in there?
Thanks for the updates! in #17, can we make the blue line between the words go away? Also, I'm thinking they are too boxy on the inside of the circle...is there a way to make the top and bottom curved to match the curve of the circle? Play off of example1.jpg in the contest brief. Same goes for the wave, a little too funky for us, can you try something more like example1?
also, can the sun rays not extend through the red line?
the truck in blue #15 took away from the outline of the words, which we liked. Maybe move the words apart vertically so that the outline of the letters is shown above and below the truck. not sure if that makes sense :)
the one's where the text was rounded more was a bad idea :) My bad!
is it possible in #21 to move the shaved ice line down towards the bottom. then maybe try to play off the "o" in snocal and turn it into the sun? not sure how that will go, but worth a try :)
some more comments for you: I like the amount of rays in #25, but lets keep the O the same color as the rest.
I like the spacing of the gap in #23 between the text, and maybe even take it down another few points, and lets try making it a little wider than the rest. Also, can you have the top not scooped up on the left side of shaved, and then not so scooped up on the ice part. Then inbetween, if you can make a sketched wave like the example links i sent, i think that would look super cool!
Sounds great, I will definitely work on this. I was going to try one a little more hand done. I really want you to love this. I really appreciate this opportunity - Kent
you could move shaved ice down a bit. then make the top of shaved ice not so curved. maybe play with bumps and spaces in between the individual letters of s h a v e d i c e. I could see the grooves between the individual letters start the lines where the current gets drawn into the tube of the wave. Does that make sense?
Also, something simple, could you make the thickness of the inside red circle to be smaller than the one on the outside. And then make the gap between the two a little smaller, so there is less white space?
Sure thing. Sorry it has taken long for me for this round of changes. My wife had a Dr. appt so I haven't been on the computer as much. I'll be back soon to continue working on the revisions.
looking good. All comments for #44: -switch the red outlines. Thin on the outside, thick inside...might like that better -can we get rid of the waves under shaved ice. maybe just make that the same color as the new wave -can you take in the left top of the "s" in sno to match the curve of the red outline -can you do the same with the right top of the "l" in cal -take snocal up two points so that we can see the gap a little more between the words, the sun and the wave -can you move the barrel whitewash over to the right side more...like the wave is continually building to the right. -move shaved ice down a big, maybe make it a little larger. might even try a different font if that will help to switch things up. either way, might like to see it a bit bigger.
ok lets see. its close between #48 and #49. I think the L curve looks good, but I think the S chunk in the top left of both #48 and #49 is a bit much. can you lessen the chunk taken?
I like where the shaved ice line is in number #48 between the two. maybe even a tad bit taller. i like where the snocal is in #49 between the two. the c in cal, #49, can you take the bottom up just a bit so that the thickness between the wave top and the letters is even through the gap?
#52 is rock solid. Can we fix the S though a little more, make the notch to match the L. can you make the top left of the wave not swoop up though to match so much. I think it'll make it look like its building toward the barrel whitewash better. and can we make the word shaved be more flat across the top?
SWEET! ok.... for #71: can you just drop the S and the N in snocal down a bit to follow the curve of the wave. Then just above the S and N, to balance out the space, maybe put in a cluster of gulls like the ones in #54.
for #70 can we get rid of the green outline. can we fill the top 1/3 of the truck with the sunset can we fill the middle half with the wave stretch the snocal across the top half of the truck, on the inside, no curve needed on the font stretch the shaved ice across the bottom of the truck on the inside... make sense?
For #72 can we make the s and the n work the curve just a little more...really close! work the birds in above the n and the o. i think that will balance it out!
#74 is sweet! I think if we can drop the S and the N of sno just a tiny bit more, it'll give us a little more room to fit the birds just to the left a bit and it'll make the gap between the wave and snocal even all the way across.
Love the new i in ice!
just for the sake of seeing it, can you make one with those changes above, and then make shaved ice a bit bigger. It's ok if it goes out past the circle a little. Might want to raise it up too, just under the lines in the wave..
can the light blue outline on the outside not be weathered? can the wave come down a bit, same with the sunset? can snocal be straight across instead of curved?
I was going to make another one but I hadn't heard back from you. Are you pretty happy with the other at this point? I was working on sketches for one more freeform but if the clean look is what you your after.
