I was enthusiastic about a smorgasbord of typography to represent 'Smorgasbord, but it doesn't seem to work as well as I had hope. Or, more accurately, I can't get it to work as well as I had hoped! :)
I'll keep looking at other font options; there's a classic-looking serif unicase font I like, but I think sans serif is likely to be a better choice for your brand.
I'll upload something new if I come across a solution to the various issues I've had thus far.
I'll remove the accents. I think the accent you're seeing in the tag line is the loop of the s-t ligature - I'll remove it and also present it in all lower case.
I'll also take another look at the dropped 'S'. It was a standard 'S' that I had to enlarge, then manually thin out. I think I took a bit too much weight off!
Thank you.
I would leave out the symbols over the Smorgasbord. I know they are correct but rarely use and too "busy".
There seems to be one over the word distilled as well?
Would be inclined to have the tag line all in lower case.
Inclined to think dropped "S" could be stronger.
This is an attempt to create a simple logo from a typographical smörgåsbord! :)
Smörgåsbord literally means 'smear' (smörgås) 'table' (bord); so I've broken the main word down into light and bold variants of the same sans serif font. You'll also notice the mix of upper and lower case letters.
To complete the type smörgåsbord, I've used the italic version of the same font, which includes a stylistic s-t ligature.
The overall effect is an attempt to provide a variety of complimentary elements.
