I have an assortment of ideas I have been cooking up since I saw your contest this afternoon, so I will just post them and explain as I go... Love the product by the way. Reminds me of what could have happened if Lincoln Logs would've been brought into the 21st century.
This first one (Entry #6) is pretty straight forward: it's a 3-d depiction of one of your blocks, with a font on it to represent the putting together of each piece to create a whole. I am open to color suggestions, but went with orange/brown shades, as they would look great on packaging and alongside the wood color of the pieces.
This one (Entry #7) is a flatter 2-d version of my first concept. The nice thing about this is that is a little more versatile for packaging, but it lacks in the depth area, which I think depicts the pieces perfectly.
This one (Entry #8) is a much more fun approach, to be more appealing to kids and make the product scream "FUN". Again, I customized the font to make it feel like it all works together, as if pieced together to make a whole. I am still exploring additional colors for this one, but am definitely open to suggestions!
Thanks for looking at my ideas. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
This one (Entry #9) take the font a step further and makes each letter feel like it was a hand-crafted piece, basically taking the idea behind all of your pieces and bringing it directly to the brand and logo.
Wow! Thanks for all the entries, this is the first time I've tried this and yours is the first of 5 entries I've got in my email that I haven't looked at yet. I really like #7, and #6! I had played around with that font myself not too long ago. Good Job!
Thanks, Robert. I will see what kind of variations and new ideas I can add to #6 & #7. I will abandon the more playful font look for now. We can revisit that later if you choose to do!
Feel free to comment again if you think of anything specific you might want to see for those two that you like. Thanks again!
The ones I didn't pick were because they reminded me of hillbilly wooden signs down in the holler... The slots didn't come through for me, but I appreciate your ideas!
Here are a couple more ideas, using my top-ranked design: #30 & #31
The nice thing about these is you essentially have two logo options in one. You can use just the puzzle piece "S" as an alternate icon, for whenever the entire logo is not applicable (letterheads, branding on pieces, hats, etc. all come to mind!).
Let me know what you think of these new ones. Thanks!
I like these too! A lot of my friends picked lucky #7! I like the dark background but I was wondering about using it on a package with a white background, What if it faded to white? That goes for all the designs with dark backgrounds. I don't think the whole box is going to be dark. Same problem if it's used on stationary.. Any ideas??
Good question about the background colors, Robert... Your main logo would essentially look like this: #39, but you can change the colors really easily, if ever needed.
Just giving you a heads up that I will be gone most of the day tomorrow, but I will have access to email to watch for comments or design requests. If anything comes up between now and Judging Mode, feel free to leave me a comment. Otherwise, if you end up finalizing the contest tomorrow, I will be able to review and finalize on my end tomorrow night.
