Hey Don! Thanks for your entry, it is beautiful. Though the checker appeals to me, it looks bit more like a pizza logo (I can see the Chicago influence in your design haha!)
Can we see an alternative, and perhaps without the slogan? (though feel free to put an underline if you like)
The white through me off a bit, as your design is quite different from what we've been receiving, but it's starting to sink in actually. My only concern is to make sure that it shows it's a food joint and is eye-catching.
