#5 It will take a few tries, the "A" is from "above", I'll re work it. A profile may be the way to draw it. Another suggestion for you, if you want to include a word or two with the Logotype– it will clear any confusion as to what skinny calf means. I will connect with you later when I have something to show.
what did you mean by "include a word or two with the Logotype– it will clear any confusion as to what skinny calf means" ... ?? the shoe is a little awkward looking - i prefer the teepee, only it doesnt resemble a shoe (maybe if you're looking down at a shoe, it could...)
#5 Sometimes you may use a short tagline and if the design is too abstract it may help understand what the visual is (though a good visual doesn't need any words to help understand it). I will try another teepee version. My first attempt was looking down at the shoe but it didn't work too well.
#7 Today I'l narrow down some designs that use the boot as an element in the logo. I will change the pointy to rounder toe. I like the lower case lettering, are you raising a question about the letter "A"? This font (which I have modified) is quite strong visually.
